I can tell you from my experience (not me because I'm not a dancer, I'm a pianist working in a ballet school)

There's a possibility that the school pushes the exam entry deadline earlier so that the school can do paper works. I don't know the official deadline for exams but I know the teachers have to spend lot of time organizing the exam schedule. As you know from experience that the exams aren't taken one on one--usually in a group, maximum four kids per exam. That's why the teachers need time to figure out what would be the best formation of groups for the kids (physique, level of confident, strong or weak, etc....)

It's difficult to learn one day of ballet class a week and get good mark, of course there are always exceptions.
From watching many ballet classes I play for, students who go more often are the ones who can be more independent to do better.

The most important thing for young students to learn is being able to "turn out" as much and as long as possible, it is one important thing to help the kids grow into a better body shape and the truth is turning out and stretching (mount and split) are interrelated.

Another thing is the ability to stand "straight" properly, according to a ballet teacher. Whenever go up and bend down the body has to be straight to do all the steps using the proper muscles.

請問您們會否覺得跳芭蕾舞會妨礙小朋友的腿或者腳的發育呢? 我聽朋友說跳芭蕾舞的小朋友, 尾趾的指甲會常常裂的. 是真的嗎? 我打算等女女四歲便讓她學, 這個年紀是否合適嗎?
