我估 TTJTMaMa 的意思是St. Joseph's 與華仁是灣仔區最top的兩間小學，而不是指St. Joseph's 在灣仔排第二。

Hi

In fact, my son is studying P4 in this school. My question is, how good should he do in the school in order to be a Band 1 student of the F.1 allocation mechanism? Up till now, my son can still maintain 9Xmarks in English and other subjects but his Chinese is very so so. I have called the Education department and they said there is no publication regarding the information I requested. I know that the school itself will know but I am sure that they will not entertain my question.

我同學既仔都係St. Jo 讀緊三年班，
佢話之前問過老師話，
如果keep住全級考80-90名之內，
便是Band one 應可入番中學。
雖則仲有Band two 學額但又要講彩數，
而家直屬學額又話減，
我諗全級考60-70名穩陣D。

My son is in St. Jo Kinder now, I'm eager to know how's this Primary School doing.

From your message, I feel your son is doing very good. Can you advise how's your son's ranking in his own class and among the whole?
Do you need to spend a lot of time to keep your son's standard?
Sorry to have so many questions, I really want to find out more to see whether the school is suitable for my son. Thanks.

In order to get a place in St. Joe sec, you have to be at least the top 1/3 , ie. within the top 100 students (the figure may vary year by year, but the margin always falls within the range of 90 to 105).

The marks is not important, or I should say you shouldn't look at the marks cos many students score v. high marks. Those get an average mark of >95 may only rank 10-20 in class, and as you know there are so many classes in each grade.... So the rank (in grade) is important.

係呀, St. Joseph's 的競爭真係好犀利，我同事個仔舊年一年級，平均分有9字頭 (唔係好記得91點幾 or 93點幾)，佢都喊咁口，佢話全班只係考12，乘番8班只係考90幾

仔仔現讀一年級, 同樣我都感受到很大壓力, 可能所謂名校, 家人和學校都對學生有很大期望, 但那個父母願意看見自己的孩子這麼辛苦, 總之他盡力便心滿意足。

有時見到D小朋友咁真係慘….
不過我覺得培養小朋友既自理能力最重要。
我同學好忙架，成日出差又放得夜，
佢個仔無補習，自小已訓練個仔咩都要自己黎，
好同唔好都要個仔自己承擔架。
佢個仔小三，一直keep 到全級50名內的，
我都有向佢偷師架！
初時要忍心，要忍心比個仔衰吓，學吓輸得起，
之後小朋友學得獨立、自理、自信，真係掂架！

這所學校只是英文及數學均是英文, 其他則以中文授課(以一年級作論)

我同事個仔(依家讀緊大學)，佢話佢個仔響呢間學校由幼稚園讀到中學，佢話回想返之前既日子，佢同佢個仔都係過住D非人生活。因為間學校非常關注學生D成績，如果個學生D成績稍有退步，便要見家長或者接到老師既電話，佢話D家長比間學校迫死(讀到F.5都仲要見家長)，佢仲話佢個仔中學時要每科請一個補習老師至讀得掂。

孩子需要鼓勵, 適當的稱讚和鼓勵,
會使他更努力去完成任務, 對自己更有自信.
在小朋友的學習過程中，父母的啟發與鼓勵是十分重要。

係度講…怕唔怕左住人地…？！
講少少喇，首先由功課開始，
小朋友要學識自己分配時間，
即是唔好由媽媽陪做功課，
佢自己決定幾時做，真係唔識可以留空，
總之媽咪放工之前要做晒，
如果掛住玩無做到，咁唔使做喇，
第日自己同老師講點解無得交。
呢招掂吖！不過真的要忍心，
我仔都試過，喊到佢吖！
只是衰一次，自始真係自動自覺架！
另外對功課，如果有錯，唔好教佢改，
叫佢諗吓，諗唔到照交，
派番之後佢實想知錯咩，
咁佢一定會記得，唔會再犯。
到測驗考試，我都未知有咩方法最好，
但多做練習都有用的，
因為語文應用跟書無得點讀的，
始終要多做，應用上才會少出錯囉。

大家仲有咩好計仔，不如大家分享吓！

仔仔是12月出生的, 對於任何事漸時都看得不重, 緊張的只有我自己知, 有時他的學習態度(例如: 散慢, 精神不集中)會引致怒火中燒。
