What's wrong with you?
My son is also on waiting list, but I really don't want asking for things I should NOT know and CANNOT know. I just keep an eye on my letter box, and look for other schools next June.
The order of listing list; the registration date of the successful children etc are really NOT your (and my) business. Don't do such stupid things. As you said, you don't even dare to give your child's name to the prinipal! If you have very strong and reasonable reason to know those things, why daren't you give your kid's name to the principal??? Can you tell me just one or two reasons that you have the reason (and right) to know those things?
Please ask yourself, does it make any sense by asking things you shoudn't know? Are those things your business? By saying that lady on the other end of the phone "didn't make any sense", why not ask yourself the same question?
I can't teach you what to do, but please only do what an adult should do. Based on your judgement and behavior, I think if you go for the interview, you won't even get a waiting list at all.
