港大唔收我個仔

港大唔收我個仔, 我感到非常失望又憂慮, 不知統一我個仔會派那一間學校, 所以我會盡最大努力, 寫信給校長, 但我又不懂怎樣寫好, 請問有沒有媽咪可以email 一封sample 給我, 各位媽咪, 我這樣做, 你們覺得收我個仔機會大唔大呢?

Don't be sad. Hong Kong has a lot of schools. Each year there are many disappointed parents when their children did not get into their desired school.

My son has studied for a few months in HKUGAPS now. His classmates are all very brilliant and so my son has to work very hard each day after school to study and read books. This is the problem that a child will face if he gets into a famous school.

In the case of HKUGAPS, the school can choose the best of the best among the 1400 applicants. No wonder the standard of the students are very high. I need to give my son a lot of private tuition so as to let him keep up with his classmates. This is something you have to consider when you want your son to study in a famous school.

唔好咁唔開心啦！

如果自己太唔開心，影響埋個小朋友就更加唔好啦．

有時塞翁失馬，焉知非褔．．．小小苦楚等於激勵．．．

如果真係咁想入, 寫多d信去叩門啦, 仲有大把時間慢慢打動校長個心, 有志者事竟成, 我朋友舊年一直打電話寫信去求佢心儀果間學校, 到8月30日學校話有位可以比佢入啦. 努力呀

Yes, you should write to the Principal of HKUGAPS. Keep writing. That is a very very effective way of getting into a famous school. Don't give up too early. Write to the Principal at the end of each term of the school, when she is a lot relaxed with the school duties. There are three terms.

Hi motheroffour,

My elder son applied HKUGA last year but failed. My younger son(K2) will apply p1 in next year.

It heard that there is no examination for first 2 years(?), and relatively less homework(?). But you said you son need to work hard and require private tuition after school. Would you please let us know more about this school (charasteristics, strength/weakness, academic requirement...). Many Thanks.

You dont have to feel disappointed, there is a lot of good school besides HKUGA. Sorry to say that I dont really understand why so many people apply for this school ?

千萬不要灰心呀! 妳要不斷寫信去令校長覺得妳好有成意好想入佢間學校, 咁如果真系有位佢可能會考慮妳個小朋友呢!

我朋友的小朋友就系咁啦! 佢個女心議間校無收佢, 佢非常想入, 即使參考了統一系位, 派到了第一志願, 仲系一間好多家長都模名想入津貼明校, 辦理所有註冊手續后佢依然無放棄繼續寫信扣門, 足之系8月份通知佢有位問佢仲讀吾讀.... 佢緊系.......讀啦。

所以話精成所志, 金石為開, 我諗就系咁呱。

In fact, you really no need to be so upset.

From my experience, if you really like this school,  you still have great chance to get a place.

My friend got a place during the end of summer holiday.  Because there should be a no. of parents to give up the place before the new year school term.

You know, maybe your mind will be change during this critical period.  If you still love this school, prepare a great profile and send it to the school.  This really helps you to get a place.

Many famous schools also practise in this way.

但最慘係2nd in 機會都冇, 入waiting list都唔得, 到時叩門的機會真係好少啦
