Hi everyone,
My son's teacher (English and drawing), Ms. Suzanne, is a foreigner (European born in England). She is a very responsible teacher.The tuition fee is reasonable. She is a lovable person, many students love her. She is also an artist with a degree in Fine Art. Her drawing class is also good, your children can learn drawing and oral English at the same time.
She is wheelchair bound because of poliomyelitis. Now she is teaching at home. She is living in Man Lai Court (文礼閣), Tai Wai (大圍), N.T. (5mins walk from Tai Wai KCR station).
New students always join her drawing class first, so they can get familiar with her in a more relax environment. From my own experience, drawing is a very useful skill for primary students. Phonics can help your children learning spelling.
For children studying in a group of 4 to 6, the tuition fee is HK$140/per session (1 hour 15min.). It is the same for phonics and drawing. You may ask her for one-to-one tuition. You can try one session first and she is willing to let you stay there to observe. Then you will know whether her class is suitable for your children.
Many of her students are studying in Shatin Junior. She also teaches students studying in local schools. Her husband is a famous Chinese Artist. She knows some Chinese. Her helper can also speak English and Cantonese. My son has been studying in her drawing and phonics classes for more than 1 year. His English has improved a lot.
