Which area do you want to know?

My daughter is now in P.1, going to be P.2.
She is a gifted child & I like her to be independent in every aspect. I don't want her to be compared with other kids, so I chose this school. There is no ranking in the exam.

I only keep encouraging my baby & she can manage her school work or exam on her own. I only need to pay minimal effort in assisting her in difficult tasks.

The school work is not heavy & mostly can be finished at the daily final session. Also, there are many kinds of after school activities & you don't have to sort them out in other centres.

The school encourages active reading & learning. My baby had finished reading 90 English books & 40 Chinese books in the past 10 months. She enjoys reading very much & she would always try to source new information from her books/dictionary.

I am p1 05 student's mum. Like to ask if students has a lot of books and things to school or not. I hearsay that a separate bag is used for water and snack. I plan to buy a small size SPI school bag. But if there is a lot books I would buy Dr Kong middle size schoo bag.

And the parent talk is in Sept, right?

Students have to bring books as scheduled in timetable only. But they have a study session (15 mins) daily, ie children have to bring a extra leisure book, but you can keep it in own locker if she/he didn't finish it.

They have many worksheets instead of workbooks. Parents have to assist their young children in filing, especially in P.1. Sometimes I also got confused as there are more than 1 kind for each subject.

But anyway, a small size SPI is enough.
Of course, another small bag for snack is needed to facilitate easy management during breaktime. And it's common for all primary school students, not only for those in CPS.

Finally, the parents talk is usually arranged in mid/ late September.

My kid is a boy. How many pieces of sports wear and uniform you buy for summer in P1? I heard the school has grey wool coat, right? Is it too thick to be used for summer? Can I buy coat by myself. Any color is OK or there is restriction. Thanks.

To ALAL & rabbitpiggy,

1. No written exam during interview.

2. Only students from Creative Kindergarten(Kln Tong & Hung Hom) have priority to be admitted to CPS

3. Monthly: around $5600 for 11 months

4. I bought 1 set of PE suit for my baby as the PE sessions are on Tuesday & Friday (for my baby's class), ie enough time for drying

5. The grey coat is too hot for summer but not warm for winter, so I bought a thin white coat for summer & a thick dark color coat for winter.

6. My baby was in an international kindergarten (local Chinese class) previously, & didn't have to write so much.
But out of my expectation, the 生本教學 of Chinese enriched my baby's vocabulary. She can read a lot of words now though she can't write most of them. The school expects the students to write more competently from P2 onward.
Also, I chose the 普通話 class instead of Cantonese class, so my baby can speak quite fluently in 普通話now.

I've attented the parents day in June 05 and I like this school very much, I think if my son studying here will be a happy boy. What I worry about is the cost for studying in CPS, I know the school fee is around $6000 per month, but how about the after school activities, school bus & lunch? May I know how much do you pay for you baby each month?

Can you share with us how attractive is the cirriculum? I just know that it is activity-based, teaching in Chinese, not much homework. Thanks.

I think Creative School is a good school, but since it is a private school, the school fee is quite high.

How is Creative compared with PLK CKY? Both are private schools, and PLK CKY is using English/ Mandarin, school fee is around $4K. Creative is $6K. Is it better?

Dear all,

1. The English session composes of 2, one by local teacher for basic English teaching, while the native English teacher is reponsible for English activities so that the students can have a more comprehensive learning. And each day they have 2 sessions in English.

2. My baby attended playgroup since 16 month old, she's now in Cambridge Mover course.
It depends whether you want to send your child to other English course, but the after school activities have such courses too.

3. Students can bring their own lunch. But you can also join the meal as prepared by school kitchen. It costs $30 (expensive) but it is a well balance & fresh diet. It has meat, vegetable, soup, fruit.

4. The school bus fee will be depended on the distance (around $650-1000). For me living in Tsuen Wan, the fee is $860.

5. costing: school fee - $5450(year 2004-05)
               schoolbus - $ 860
               lunch - $600
               School choir - free
               Chinese Caligraphy - $1100 (whole course 10 sessions @ CPS)
               Cambrige Mover -$1000
               Ice-skating - $675
               Piano training - $1200

thank you for your time in answering our questions.

I know Creative's exta activities charge more or less the same with outside. But do you how many students in say, Chinese caligraphy. Would it accept more students than outside.

And is it difficult to enrol on heat courses. Lucky draw needed if there is too many enrolment?

I've also enroled the Putonghua p1 class.

Dear ALAL,

I didn't ask my baby for no. of students in her Caligraphy class. As you see, my baby had already had so many kinds of activities, I didn't apply extra one for her even she was once recommanded to join music instrument course & English drama.

As far as I know, it seems there is no lucky draw in applying the course. The school liaises with a tutorial centre in arranging courses, & school pays a supervisory role, ie at least they have quality control.
