Hi siu-siu,
Please don't care about whether he is EX-husband or not. The child is his child. Your friend needs to fill in the father's information into the application form. Just fill in the details UNLESS your friend's EX-husband has objection to do that.
In the "Lucky Draw", you have to fill in 1 name only. The truth is the child is the 1st child of your friend and her EX-husband. Just use your friend's name. Then she will be responsible for both "Discretionary Place" and "Central Allocation" Stages of EMB.
In "Discretionary Place", she has to fill in the Form in September and send to her most favourite school (ONLY 1 CHOICE). At this stage, it is under Points System. The form and details will be given by the child's school at K3.
If it is unsuccessful, she has to fill in another form in January next year in "Central Allocation" Stage. It is under Net System which is under your residence (Home address). Of course, Part A - choose 3 schools outside your Net; Part B - choose schools within your Net.
