圖5.2 學校實施評估的理念架構

* 校內評估，是指學校因應目的而進行的評估措施，是學與教進行過程中的一部分，性質屬於進展性，有「促進學習的評估」的功能，不過，學校亦可用以決定某些學生是否適合升班。
** 校外評估，是由校外機構如考試及評核局按既定的機制而舉行的評估，屬於總結性評估和「對學習的評估」，但學校亦可利用評估的數據，如全港性系統評估的學校報告內的數據，檢視學生的整體表現，改善教學策略，達到促進學習的目的。
