My girl has attended a few lessons at Jolly Kingdom. As far as I know, there are 4-5 kids in the class and they are learning different sounds in the same class. So each kid on average will get 10-15 minutes of individual coaching from the tutor and for the rest of the time, they are doing some letter tracing or coloring work UNSUPERVISED. I said unsupervised because I see that for the page my girl has to write 'cat' , all the words turned out to be 'cAT', with some letters in upper case. And I mean ALL the words on the page, which means there was no timely intervention/ coaching during the lesson at all. Probably the kids are left idle/ unsupervised most of the time in the lesson.
Has anyone whose kid(s) have learnt phonics at this centre share your observation and information? Can this mode of learning eventually get the kids to learn how to read?
My girl just knows the basic sound of the 26 letters and her school is not providing any phonics lessons. Should I switch to another learning centre?
