小兒現讀八科，今年中四，成績中等！想drop BIO or M2,但將來會揀工程系。他對M2，冇信心考試fail，想drop, 但又話大學揀工程。
想問下如果入工程是否一定要有M2？
我想佢讀小一科，可專注其他科！
請比意見？
Chem & physic 考得幾好

1. 工程有很多種，只要選擇無特別要求修m1m2的工程，drop m2是沒有問題。

2. 事實上，如果該科無指明修m1m2，你唔會因為無修m2而減少入該科工程的機會。

3. 但係，基本上所有大學的工程課程都需要修類似m2既科，既然m2成績唔會影響入學機會，咁做咩唔早d習慣下呢科先呢？現在先中4，今日不合格，不代表兩年後不合格。我中4時m2都只得20分，但中六卻有5＊ 。

4. 如果為上大學，drop 科係不二之選，專心拎高d分，入左大學先算。
但如果真心想讀工程，就算炒都唔好drop，習慣左呢科，讀工程點都輕鬆好多，起碼唔會陌生先。

其實，想知道大學收生，幾時會計4x +3 or best 5！讀4+3x+M2真的必要，老師話最好唔drop ! 老師解釋, 唔drop 科，等於比多一條路比自己！
我覺得亞囝m2 太差，想他放多點時間計數！
老師說讀4+2 和4+3 冇分別！又話4+3 有bonus 分，真的嗎？

小女都讀緊科大工程，如以上年收生分去計(計最好個5科)
英、數 x2
phy，chem，bio只可其中一科 x2...其餘x1
m2 x1.5
所有其它科 x1

如果可以當然唔好drop,因計算後大家同分，大學應該會收讀8科個位學生先，能力高D，比我會叫佢講多一年再睇下讀成點！讀唔到我會drop bio，因讀工程有m2係好重要！


例子: bio比你考到4分，m2考到3分再x1.5倍有4.5分(多左0.5分)

Who the hell , MAN !?

All engineering stream are based upon MATHEMATICS , specifically said , Engineering Mathematics !

I am an E & M Engineer graduated at Hong Kong Polytechnics .

Averagely speaking , nearly  15 % of year 1 student  studying engineering  were out due to fail in Engineering Mathematics !

Hence no student being weak at Mathematics may survive to graduate in any engineering decipline !

If having no confidence in Mathematics M1 or M2 ,
please change any ambition to develop in any field of scientific or technical area which are only suitable to  skilled mathematician  !

Financial or marketing management would be a good option for those scientific student being weak at mathematics !

However , the requirerment of relatively higher level in English would be another condition to consider !
