| No definitely answer for this question.  Below is the questions you have to consider: 
 1. Which school your son is studying now?  How's his English standard? If not very high, he may have communication problem.  The students at lower levels are more friendly  (same culture in HK).  If he is not happy in UK, you will worry more than his failed in examinations.
 
 2. What's your expectation?  If you only want him to finish A level and go to Uni.  JUMP CLASS is good in terms of save time and save money, however, you will lose the foundation.  Y8 will have the most subjects for students to experience (Eg. Spanish, German, Latin, French, Russian... at least 3).  The student can drop some off in Y9 and drop more in Y10.  If you start from Y10, you can't take any foreign language unless you have good foundation in HK.
 
 3.  His personality.  Is he a quite person?   Or is he a very outgoing person?
 
 4.  His learning ability.
