兩個禮拜前收到 Harrow K2 offer, 本身都好開心，亞囝終於有 IS 收。

而家仲等緊HKIS 出埋 R1個 result……如果HKIS都收，應該點揀？

Harrow follows the British curriculum while HKIS follows the U.S's.  So it really depends on where you are planning to send him for college.  I personally would choose HKIS with no doubt because we are from the U.S.

Harrow may be more disciplined due to UK boarding school culture. HKIS is American culture. Academic results of some HKIS students are good and they go to Ivy League. Results of harrow yet to be seen. Facilities of harrow may be better as the campus is expensively built. Really depends.

What are some of your criteria & family background? ie.:

- More 1) traditional / 2) more freestyled?
- Plans to have the child study in 1) UK, Australia / 2) USA, Canada for high school or university (including overseas family support)?
- Parents (yourself & spouse) studied in 1) UK, HK / 2) Canada, USA?
- Currently or prefers living in 1) NT, Kowloon / 2) Hong Kong Island

I think which is 1) and which is 2) is pretty obvious. Hope this helps.

We submitted only 4-5 months ago, attended the school tour 2 months ago.

Last month the school suddenly called us for an interview (with only 2 days notice), 2 weeks after the interview an unconditional offer was received.  I heard that an additional K2 class will be added next semester.

I see. Our son applied back in 2013 autumn, but he still young. According to Harrow's age guidelines for entry, he will be an older child in 2015 for K2, so i guess he shall have his interview next year. However, he got accepted into another school (CDNIS) for K2 this year already (as the younger child in class). I prefer that he's an older chlid in class, but between Harrow & CDNIS i prefer CDNIS because i'm Canadian. Again, it really depends on your background.

I think the best person to make that judgement yourself. You should look into your child and see if he is better suited to a UK styled or US styled learning environment :)

I thought there is only one type of debenture for their kindy, 3M.

We actually don't have debenture when we applied but the school offered us ICC (3m) when they accepted my son.  That is mandatory for their early years class.

No need for us to choose, just rec'd letter from HKIS today saying that my son passed their assessment but due to the space limitation, they are not able to offer a place for him.
We have to stick with Harrow now.

My friend has 2 daughters, one started kinder and primary at HKIS and one at ESF .  She said HKIS was not strong to guide children's interest in reading.  She transferred her elder daughter to ESF finally, but still missed the golden age in reading guidance.  

I don't think all cases like this, please just take it as reference only.
