小一grammar一問,麻煩各位

Q1:nouns之中，如物件或動物多過一個就要加"s"在尾部，但為什麼就算fish多於一條就什麼都不用加呢？   

Q2:問題是一段文章，然後把"a","an","x"填入空格:
而答案是:
Jim has much to eat every day. Today, he has 1..X biscuits, 2..X cup cakes, 3..X eggs and 4..X ice-cream for tea.

先想問一問什麼是ice-cream for tea? 和為什麼它前面不需要加"an"呢?

比我個囡囡問到口啞啞呀!  唔該幫幫忙 thx!

Q1. Fish is both a singular or plural noun.  For this type of nouns, you don't need to add 's/es' to it when you refer to plural.  But if you add 'es' to the word fish, i.e. fishes, it means different types of fishes, not meaning more than one fish.  Another example is 'sheep'.

Q.2 'for tea' means some food to eat at tea time (time between lunch and dinner).  'ice-cream' here is uncountable.  You cannot say one ice-cream, two ice-creams.  You can only say one ice-cream cone, two ice-cream cones etc.  Since ice-cream here is uncountable, of course 'x' is used.  'Water' is an easier example to understand.  We don't say one water, two waters because water is uncountable.  we only say 'one drop of water', 'two drops of water'.

=>查過oxford字典, "fish"的複數可用"fish"或"fishes", 兩者皆通.

=> 根據Oxford的Practical Eng. Usage，當我們以泛指的方式談及一般事物（例如所有音樂、文獻），我們都用複數名詞或是不帶冠詞的不可數名詞。
而這題目中的幾個名詞，再加上第一句的意思，那是一個泛指的方式，所以不用加冠詞"an"。

Q.1
Say, if there are 20 fish in one type of fish e.g.金魚 , no need to add 'es' b

BUT
we use fishES for more than one type of fish, e.g.金魚、七彩神仙、小丑魚 totally there are 3 types of fish, even each type has only one fish.

Biscuits, cup cakes, eggs and ice-cream are all things eaten during tea time.

講來講去似乎都指唔出要點，英文有一種叫collective noun，中文可叫它作"統稱"，當泛指某一種類時就會用到，未必一定是uncountable。

Q1 some count nouns have same form for both singular and plural eg. ...a sheep...eight sheep. ...a deer...nine deer
i.e. fish , fruit, goldfish, grapefruit.

Q2   ice-cream is an uncountable noun, no article is required.
However, note the followings

two cups of ice-creams ---> two ice-creams
three cups of coffee ----> three coffees. In this way, the uncount noun ice-cream becomes countable.

I like ice-creams means I like different kinds of ice-cream.

countable      uncountable
