Any kids studying in Greenfield Long beach? Any comment on this school? Academic strong? Or happy school?

My kid started to study in Long Beach GF 2.5 yrs ago since he did playgroup then K1 K2. He is very happy to go to school everyday and I'm satisfy with everything so far, especially the teacher/ student ratio, His K2 class ratio is around 1:7.

The lessons mainly conducted in English so my kid can speak very fluent English even though I talk to him in Cantonese most of the time.
All staff and teachers are very nice, i believe the school expand pretty fast due to it's good reputation and English environment.

Worse thing is we don't have any primary school allocation reference as GF is quite new, last year K3 students allocation is not that valuable though as I know less than 30 students graduated. And the allocation results on its website is referring to Tung Chung GF rather than Long Beach GF.

pc430: thank you for yr sharing. Yes, the school is so new and no reference for school allocation, which is my main concern. But your sharing made me less worry now, even though no reference now, i believe that the good academic environment there can provide kids solid base for any challenge for interviews of primary schools

I think Cannan is quite local, considering you cannot use the government voucher anymore and I heard there're lots of misc fee. Considering the total cost you spend for a very local school is nearly 5K per month, it's better to choose a good language environment school like GF with 1.x K additional per month if you can afford that amount.

The group of classmates are quite different in general speaking, I can see most of the parents..even those from mainland they are very polite and highly-educated as they can speak very fluent and native English.

i feel like the principal is doing a good job to improve the standard of the kids. I heard from last year K3 graduate's mum and she mentioned the school provided additional tutorial classes to help her son's academic ability.

Now my son is writing 媽,姐,妹,哥 in chinese and reading Oxford tree level 4 right now, writing 1 to 50 numeric and got book report every week.

yes , he is studying K2 now. my son is super small B, so I don't have much choice to choose honestly.
So far he is on the right track, of course it's hard to compare with the big B but teachers said he is performing OK in the school academically.

it really depends on how many cantonese students in the class, I can see my son mainly talk in English with his close friends even they meet outside the school. Never see my son talk in mandarin with his friend but sometimes he speaks a few mandarin words when he meet someone talking in Mandarin at Clubhouse.

Thanks for your comment again. You’re so nice.

It is not my concern if only 1K additional per month. Some people said 金巴倫Cannan is famous than GF and also teachers are nice and caring, however, I think GF’s academic language is better than Cannan so that I don't know how to choose it.

I'm not that sure about St. Nicholas if they assign one NET one PTH teacher for each class. For GF, we have 1 NET (real NET , not indian or ABC) + 1 PTH (from Mainland not Taiwan) + 1 Local teacher for each class.
My son's class even got 2 NET + 1 PTH full time teaching/assisting in the class since most of the kids in the class don't know Cantonese at all.

Max is 24 students in one class as I know. not sure if the school will maintain the same ratio in the future.
I've asked some of the NET their origin, so far I know there are NETs from Scotland, Canada, USA and Australia....no one from non-English primary language country.
