Based on the principle of liberal education, the promotion of civic awareness and responsibility among students has been the focus of our civic education work. We provide a neutral and open platform for students at all times. Over the years, DBS has held forums and seminars on social issues to build up independent and critical thinking capabilities among our students.
The forum held on September 19, 2013 serves this purpose. On the day of the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival which symbolizes the reunion of families, three renowned old boys - Dr. Benny Tai (class of '81), Mr. Michael Tien (class of '67) and Mr. Jat Sew-tong (class of '82) will return to the DBS family and share their views and experiences on Christianity and political development in Hong Kong with their younger brothers. We believe that holding dialogues on important issues in respectful manner can help students understand, appreciate and learn the important values of tolerance, respect and gentleman’s discourse.
