　　國際普通中學教育文憑試（IGCSE）日前放榜，創校十一年的保良局蔡繼有學校今年第三年有學生應試，共取得五百八十一個A，包括二百九十七個A*，比例較去年多近五成。其中五十五人考獲六科A或以上，五人考獲十一科A或A*佳績，成為狀元。有考獲佳績的尖子勉勵成績欠佳的學生，發掘個人長處，加以發展。

　　保良局蔡繼有學校今年有一百零五名學生應考IGCSE，應考人數較去年多二十七人，平均每人報考九科或以上，及格率達百分百。其中五十五人考獲六科A或以上，五人考獲十一科A或A*，成績較去年理想。該校昨日向成績優異學生頒發獎學金，主禮的保良局主席兼屬校校監鄭錦鐘指，該局一直投放資源，協助學生發掘及提升潛能。

　　考獲十一科A*的「狀元王」楊翠茵（圖右）感謝學校及同學的鼓勵，又指「每位成功學生的背後，都一定會有默默支持他們的家人。」以十科A*佳績獲頒獎學金的王正菩（圖左）則認為，同學間的互愛令學習更見愉快，「考試期間，我們會分享溫習材料，互相關心。」她勉勵成績欠理想的學生，「每人都有其長處，大家定能於各自擅長的範疇發光發亮。」

接近以前的GCE O Level，相當本港中四程度。現在稱為 IGCSE，英國本土是GCSE。lGCSE有些Local adaption 跟GCSE有些分別。

小兒沒有考GCE，所以了解不深，你請教其他家長較恰當。

I got the following info from wiki about IELTS
United Kingdom Language requirement for immigrant Under the UK's "Points Based System Tier 1" (General Migrant) programme, applicants can receive 10 points for their English language qualification if it is deemed "equivalent to the Council of Europe's Common European Framework for Language Learning level C1", which is said to approximately equivalent to IELTS level 6.5, or
GCSE
Grade C. Having gained a university degree from an English-medium institution is an acceptable alternative proof of one's English level.[28]

If the equivalent is correct, Grade B is better than our average local university graduates.

I find the IGCSE comparison here for CKY (http://www.edu-kingdom.com/home.php?mod=space&;uid=35057&do=blog&id=767). Have not looked into IGCSE scores and how they compare since I am sure there are lots of nuances. On the surface, looks like similar scores as ESF.
