Are "health" and "famous school" really trade off? Even if the child is studying in non-famous school, if you want him (or the child wants himself) to get to the top, then there can still be much study pressure. Time is still competing for studying, ECA, school teams and rest.
I recommend you doing research on how pushing the famous school that your child has got offer is.
Just like the school that my boy is studying (I do not mean that his school is a famous school), it is a through train school and the requirement to be admitted to the secondary school is a pass in the major subject plus conduct of B- or above. So, students (and/or parents) can choose to be aggressive and do well, or lay back and get a passing grade. As much as I have observed, most of the students (and/or parents) there chose to be aggressive, but this can also happen in any "non-famous" school. Regarding ECA, my boy's school requires learning of one musical instrument and one sports. Students do not necessarily learn the musical instrument and sports at school, they can take lessons with any outside tutors. Students can choose whether they want to join school team when they are invited. My friend's boy turned down the offer of joining school teams. So, all in all, I think my boy's school provides a platform for students to decide how they would like to perform. If students put in a lot of efforts either in studying or ECA, it is because they want to. The students can also choose to be more lay back. I guess it would not be too difficult to get a passing grade at the end.
