Anfield Playgroup - Mardarin & English Class

Can anyone advise me about the lesson of Anfield Playgroup in Kowloon Tong?  I heard that they divide a lesson for 45mins English and another 45 mins Mardarin.  Is it good for the kids (around 2 years old) to learn like this?  Mardarin is new to my baby.  I am wondering if my baby will have confusion for the langague she learn.

Re: Anfield Playgroup - Mardarin & English Class

The Mandarin session only last for approx 15-20minutes.  I don't think the young children will confuse very much as they even don't fully understand when the teacher speak in English.  They will sing a Mandarin song and the teacher will say a few words to them but they won't really learn from the class.
Just like my daughter, she has been studying in Anfield since last April, when she hear people speaking Mandarin now, she will know it's Mandarin but of course she don't understand what they are saying.

Re: Anfield Playgroup - Mardarin & English Class

According to my experience, the English teachers are native Englsih speaker, Teacher Justin and Teacher Robert for the playgroup and pre-program classes.  There are also the Indian ladies who are responsible for the Kindergarten classes.
If your kid don't speak English at home, so don't expect they can learn a lot from school, even though Teacher Robert will repeat and repeat the program in order for the kids to remember something.  They will sing songs, story telling, painting or crafts, gym session, teaching the kids about that day's weather and will delegent some work for them, e.g. when they have the snack session, the kids may be asked to help in distribute of the plastic plates or to bring the apples from the pantry, etc.  Actually the teachers are leading them to explore the surroundings, just like touching of the soft and hard stuff, delegation and sharing, etc, rather than teaching them language (however, the kids and the guardians are prohibited to speak Cantonese within the campus).
My daughter loves the teachers very much.  The teachers are nice but don't expect the kid can learn a lot.  Just for fun and for them to get along with other kids.
