睇過幾間女校, Y10&11 都冇ECONOMICS 讀, 係咪嗰邊唔興?

係咪一定要學french or spanish?

D人話可以繼續學樂器, 係咪學校的課外活動? 定係興趣班? 貴唔貴?

一般學校考10科gcse, 第11+科係咪要自修? 英國學校會否support?

如果第日諗住讀LAW, 係咪讀番HKU 好d?

唔好讀 Econ 啦~ 叻D既大學鍾意學生讀D traditional 既科目。
越細過去就可以讀外語，唔係一定要讀。
我以前Y9去，讀French & Spanish！
樂器可以繼續學，我果時都有學Piano~ 由於外國學生學樂器無香港人咁快，我果時學Piano Grade 7 學校仲特登請一個勁D既老師教我 [依家果個老師係 Royal Music 既總監]，價錢平過係香港學琴。
學校1般8-10科GCSE，有能力既學生又唔clash堂既可以學多D，我果時讀12科考13科，我有個英國師姐16科添！學校當然Support！
讀Law其實英國都有好多好選擇，可以英國香港兩邊都申請，英國的話 LSE UCL York Queen Mary Ox-Bridge 都好好！

想讀法律，可以考慮倫敦大學 King's College 與香港大學合辦的 joint degree。雖然要讀五年，但畢業後卻可同時獲倫敦大學與香港大學兩個法律學位。值不值就見仁見智了！

你说叻既大学較喜歡收取讀傳統科目的学生,不知是否意指History, Geog, Eng Lit, Phy, Chem, Bio等?

英國人正在硏究 GCSE 的未來發展以及 English Baccalaureate 的成立，目的就是要鼓勵多些學生修讀 humanity 科目，如 history, geography,及 religious studies 等. Russell Group 大學也同意它們喜歡收有修讀起碼一科 humanity 科目 GCSE 的學生。

Most will include English Language, English Literature, Maths, 2 or 3 science subjects, and at least 1 modern foreign language, 1 humanity subject, and 1 creative subject (music, art, drama, physical education...).This would be a good framework to work under but of course you must talk to the teachers to pick & choose according to your child"s strength & interest.

Woh! Thanks for your quick reply.

There are six compulsory subjects to be taken at her school, they are Eng, Eng. Lit, Math, Phy, Chem, Bio. For the humanity and foreign languages, she will most likely to take History, Geography, Latin and Spanish. But her teacher advised her to be more balanced, asked her to consider one more creative subject. She is now thinking of taking music as her 11th subject. Do u think it is a good mix?

A creative subject would balance it up nicely. If the work load of 11 subjects is too much, I would consider dropping one out of history, geography and Latin.

這個是在英國讀的嗎? 可否在HKU讀, 兩個法律學位是指LLB 嗎? 那還要讀PCLL, 是嗎?

五年課程，部份時間在倫敦，部份時間在香港。兩個學位皆是LLB level, PCLL 要另外再考。

I find it strange that you didn't take any English GCSE - neither language nor literature!
And 6 creative / technology subjects and not one humanity subject?
I thought you said, in your previous post, that good universities like traditional subjects?!

Because I am a science student, I took IGCSE English & FCE at Year 10, but we were discussing GCSE so I didnt mention those ones :)

我仲想補充一點，English Baccalaureate 會係2017年先實行，依家基本上只要學生讀既科目夠 traditional，上到 A-level 選擇又夠 traditional，要去 Russell Group 大學一定無問題。如果有個學生想讀醫，佢有 Chem Bio Maths 絕對好過 History Chem Maths 呢個combination！後者根本不會被考慮的。

For an oversea science student to do English in Year 10 in IGCSE and yet do Maths & Sciences in Year 11 in GCSE is, to say the least, most curious!
All I can say is that your case can only be viewed as an exception rather than the norm!
