It is hard to say how much time you need to do the homework, it is really depends. Parental guidance (support) is needed. 2 tests 2 exams in a year. 6 cycle days in a week, day 3 Chinese dictation, day 6 English dictation. Exam will cover all syllabi, including religious, putonghua in speaking and writing, music in singing and writing, Chinese and English dictations, etc. There are 13 "open book tests" (6 Chinese + 7 English) in readers. Life is very fruitful in MS.

If correction is not counted, there are around 2 kinds of homework in each subject. In addition, students are busy in preparation of dictation, readers and on-line learnings.

2 for each subject? That means there will be an average of 8 assignments daily!!! OMG...So how much time does your kid require to complete those homework? In this case, I don't think my kid can join any after class activities

8 is already less then that in govt schools

每天連改正可能會超過十樣功課了，還有時間參與課後的課外活動嗎？民生的課外活動很多姿多彩，不能參與太可惜了。學校網頁說均衡的家課政策，現在看起來還是偏多的。一週內中英默書各一次也點偏多，不竟對小一學生在適應上壓力還是很大的。但無奈的說香港大部份的學校都是這樣。做家長只有多為小朋友準備了。

I did not say "一週內中英默書各一次". I just said it is around 1 Eng / Chinese each in 1 6-cycle.
