hkugaps-can parents share

hi,
i have read alot about this school and it's a very promising school.  I am very impressed by the IA programme.
can parents with kids studying there share some opinions, good and bad ones?

there have been alot of discussions regarding this school back to Aug/Sept when parents at that time were thinking about enrolling their kids for 2005/6.  You might review the website.  

Not too many parents of the school participate in this website.

I also want to know.  Any parents can share their information?  I always heard people said the students studying happily in the school.  How is their academic standard compare with other traditonal school?  Please share.  Thanks!

Emm...... you are the same as many other parents....always asking for academic results......how to compare with XYZ traditional schools....which one is better....   

I am not saying that you are wrong... but same as many other parents you are comparing apple with orange....  and wanted to know which one is better...?!

What if I say, the total number of English words they can spell is much less than the traditional English schools (since the term start from 1st September 2004)?  They only have to dictate 10 simple English words for every two weeks and never have Chinese dictation so far?  Would you consider their academic result is poor than traditional school?  

What if I say, their studetns are in general pretty smart?  Able to score more than 80 marks without any preparation for untold assessments for most subjects, purely based on how much they have learned during class and doing homework.

thanks. that's the things that i wanna gather from parents of the school.  in fact, i dont quite care about the academic results, the kids will learn eventaully.  it's how the school inspires the kids to learn that matters.

But HKUGAPS's Integrated Arts Programmes and other modules really attracts my attention.   I do believe the arts programmes would help the kids to develop into another dimension of vision.  The school has posted lots of info about that at their web site.  I would love to see some feedbacks from the parents though.

On the other hand, one of the modules, Commmunity Services, link the kids to the community by participation.  this is great for the kids too.

hope more parents can tell more on these aspects rather than the academic stuff.
