好多有識之士,總結文憑試要考好核心科目。

如果要入熱門專業科目,靠四大核心科目加一科選修科就足夠??? GCE AL 要三科AL,IB亦要三科 (撇除中英數),是大學高估學生能力,抑或我地高估核心科目的比重(可能學友社誤導我們)?

I think the requirement should be 4C + 2X. 4C+1 special X is used in the basic calculation. However, the last X can be crucial and used as a tie breaker as it is expected to have quite a significant number of students getting the same scores.

我覺得沒有高估不高估,只是一場數字遊戲。回想起當日khma提到第一屆dse practise paper,很多參與的學生於中文卷中得分甚低,但dse中文科合格率(3級以上)又奇高,這現象告訴我們甚麼?提高dse的認受性!

不過,我反而覺得英文和數學才是決定因素,因好幾間U都將這兩科分數乘大。

This is interesting.  Apart from the ability of the candidate, the overall impression of the examination to the general public counts.  This is a factor that the candidate cannot control over it.

Now, my family work on UCAS application together and we can see the requirement easily, like HL grades on certain subjects...... With typical admission scores. Very clear and transparent.
