My son, 5 years old, is going to learn violin. We would like to buy a 1/8 violin for him. Can any mama recommend a place to buy the violin ? I saw in tom lee and 粵華 (in wan chai) that the price of a 1/8 violin is about $700. Is it acceptable for a beginner ?
that is acceptable price for beginner. there is also solo strings but the price is from hkd1900.
as for how old he needs to change to a bigger violin will depends on how fast he grows.. the faster he grows taller, the faster he needs to change another violin..
the time to change another violin is the reason i am thinking not to buy a too expensive one at this time. Maybe he will use it one year and then needs to change a bigger one.
