不是這意思,只是聽聞有人驚高考炒英文,專登報定IELTS先,咁至少多個保障這方法係避免叻人因一時失準入不了U,不是for懶人行捷徑

ielts對語文要求比較貼近香港考試制度（包括口音），純以功利角度看考ielts比較容易

Are you sure?

Both Law Faculty of HKU and CU said HKDSE "English" result can't be replaced by IELTS.

深淺而言（題目）難以直接比較，但每年考評局都會抽樣做ielts比對研究，只能說在取得成績次第而言，ielts仍然是比較難的。意思是什麼呢？比對考評局的比較結果與歐盟語文框架，高考生即使取得少於1%的A，仍不能完全取得ielts 8.5分至滿分成績（C2級資歷）。當然這是合理的，香港人少，拉curve制度下必需提取極少數精英，而且精英也未必見得優秀。樂觀地看，日後DSE可能有機會跟IELTS看齊的，雖然機會極微。若果考評局將分數要求定得比高考更高，恐怕會招至大眾反感。
而我所知DSE委員英方背景濃厚，以往操刀聆聽那位學者亦屬英國人，所以說考ielts會較易適應

多謝你的詳盡解說，我都覺得IELTS會比DSE艱深，自己未考過因而不知道深多少。
你特別提及考試模式似DSE，感覺非常有趣，因為IELTS會比DSE艱深，香港學生英語水平正如你所說未見特別優秀，我正正檐心因貨就價（分）。

TOEFL - American English Test
IELTS - British English Test, run by http://www.hongkong.idp.com/

有興趣考IELTS，可到British Council報名。至於TOEFL，可向香港考試局報名。

留意一點，英藉英語老師，對TOEFL不認識，相反對IELTS十分了解，有些甚至是口語考官。如要補習TOEFL，要找American/Canadian。

BULTAS Test 係考Business English, 不同TOEFL/IELTS, Academic English.

一般來說，升學就考TOELF/IELTS, 在職人士就考BULTAS English Test.

回覆：英文試: 托福 / IELTS / BULATS

CAE, CPE係Cambridge 英文考試，比英語高程度的人士(學生/成人）考的，通常讀British Council, SPACE的英語課程，按學生程度考不同的Cambridge English exam。有興趣的話，看一看，British Council的網站的Examination, 有詳細介紹。

CPE 評級比IELTS更要嚴格，IELTS取得滿分跟CPE取得A/B級水準相若。除非出於專業需要（例如翻譯、海外大學進修），我甚少認為香港人需要考CPE。
CAE是次一級的，而考核內容比較貼近海外文化，評分等級與IELTS／高考相若，亦不建議香港人考。
CAE／CPE除非真的自問有地道英語背景，否則對一般英文程度高的學生仍然有難度。

至於DSE與IELTS的取捨，我個人不會認真考慮考試制度有否政治安排，只要有所求，他們又考到就夠；雖然，我一直認為DSE考卷設計的確參考了國際考卷。一是出於提高認受性的考慮，二是出於英語課程與英澳相若。

I & my husband are planning to enroll our daughter to take the CAE by mid of year. My hubby has gone through some CAE past paper and his comment is the level is somewhere between IGCSE Second Lang. & First Lang.
