Some mummys said no worry on English but need to concern about their chinese, PHT and maths.

Any one can help suggest me good playgroups schools to for my son who is not smart and love running around to help him improve his chinese, PHT and maths?

Also, as my son was studied in York in PN, I do impressed with their training for Cambridge English Test, but I am not sure if it is really necessary. A mummy suggests me a school called ABC Pathways there he can study Cambridget Engish one; but I also noted that there is a cour called RWI by Oxford, that I have no idea on that.

As St. Cathine will concentrate on phonics and Oxford tree, I am really mess up what I should do. And it is too ealry to start studing when is is 2.5Y? Or we shall let him to be familar with the envrironment. My son is not howving artplay and music and gym class and he enjoys it, don't know he can focus on reading when we change the course sudeenly.

Please, any daddys and mummys, if you know any good schools that fits St Catherine styles, please let me know as I am will mess up and have no idea, even after reading the threads.

Waiting for wks but no responese

I am a bt worry aboug my son's Englsih as his speech devkeopment is slow compared with other. Any mummys have bring your sons/daughters to study in good playgournds?

I understand the school will take care of Phonic Letterhead; but as my son speech progress is slow compare with others, and we are only admitted to End./Catonese streem, I am worry if he can cathc witth with English and PHT.

Any mymmys can help and give me good sugessions? Some one tells me there is a school called ABC Pahtways but there is only ABC playgroups for kids of 2.5>Y is it ia good school? I am intersted in letting him to try to have Cambridge English test, and there are courses there. Any mummys know it is good or give me good suggesitons? Please let me know the name of the school or link so that I can search for it.

And some people said PHT/Cantones/Maths training in St. Catherine is not enough Is it true? So how can you tackle it?

Also, I need a PHT session and I'd like my son to try drama course so that he can develop his confidece. Can anyone help me on this?

Kln Tong is a better place for us for extracurricular activies as he is having pm. session. I have written a letter to the Principal to see if we can change to am session as well as change to Eng/Mandarin classs, though I know it is not not easy. I saw in some threads mummys said calll the school may help, do I need to call the Princpal?

Hi momo627, (I have replied to you in another thread for the followings)

For K1, you do not need to be too worry about the courses (academic related) to join after class. Of course, you can take some interest classes, as it is good for kid to explore their interests: such as drawing, swimming, music-related etc.

If you want to strengthen his language, you can start learing PTH in K1, mainly focus in conversation.

For Cambridge starter, you need to reach age of 5 in order to take the exam in Hong Kong. So even your kid is a big kid, it will be K2 things to consider.

For Enopi Maths, suggest start at K2, when your kid can manage writing and counting numbers.

Do more reading with your kid, both Chinese and English, it helps a lot.

Enjoy the time in K1.

hi, bb@wonderland, thanks alot for replying me here also.

Which class your baby is now in?

I have pm you my questions in other threads and hope you don;t mind if I have more questions, I may need to borrow your time more. as I am not famialar with SC,and most of my schoolmates are all having sons or daughters studing in their one district and cannot give me any ideas.

Really thanks you for sharing me your experience.

is he or she in Eng/Chinese or Eng/PHT class? Do you think the school is good and teachers are nice?

Are teachers are speaking in English during normal hours and spent an hour only from k1 to K3 for Eng/Cantonese one? And how is your feeling about the school, many homework, tests and do your kids feel happy?

He is in Eng/Cantonese Class. Net teachers, of course speaking English all the days.

For those I know, they are all very happy in SC. Homework and Tests, to me, just right.

sorry I am too stupid. I though NET teachers are those foreigners who speak English all the days, but isn't it only in the class or meet in somewhere inside the school, but there are Chinese teachers teaching Cantonese and PHT who will speak other languages; or all teachers no matter NETT or Chinese/PHT all needed to chat in English when they ar inside the school?

and so happy your kids are happy studing in SC and homework and tests are not heavy. I don't want to put pressure on him and myself on it.

From last Friday, we start to have to teach our kid to write 1 chinese charactor and paint a picture. We used to do some photo taking and do sketches and add some words and attach all photos on Sketch book, but this is much more easier as it is hard to ask a 2.5Y boy to sit still and concentrate to learn and write even simple work. my hb rely on me on this and surely he will kills me if I haven't forced my son to finish his homework everyday.

From CNY, the school gave all students 2 golden fishes to let them learn and observe their life and growth...i really hate fish as it is smelly, and the pond position make affects on fungsui, so bad I ddin't get any information on fungsui, even for the right position for putting the right things like flowers, plants, water at the right orientiation, and not talkinga bout fish pond la....sigh...and one goldfish die already.....

Sigh, heard from some mummys doing homework for son/daughter is largest project. So tired from work, yet need to do a lot and even sth. we don't know how to do.

SC is not a school only focus in English. Chinese teachers, they would speak Cantonese with each other, and also with the students.

Students, they usually use languages quite well, They speak Cantonese to Chinese/ Class teachers, speak PTH with PTH teachers (of course, simple ones for Eng/Cantonese Class), speak English with English NET teachers.
