1. tutor time?
2. Woodland?
3. Victoria?
4. PIPS?
5. Anfield

多謝各位

There is reception class for CIS and they will be promoted to Y1 automatically.
I heard that quite a lot of graduates from both Woodland and Anfield will go to ESF primary, these two schools focus more on English.
Most of the Victoira kindy parents target are DSS/Private primary or VSA, if your target is IS primary, perhaps you can try to consider other IS kindy.
According to TT's website, their graduates will go to CIS, ESF, GSIS, CDNIS, HKIS, etc. TT is doing well in bilingual teaching, and CIS is also a bilingual school, this may give you some advantages in CIS (primary) interview (reception interview could be conducted in English, Mandarin or Cantonese).
Sorry I'm not familiar with PIPS.
If there is/are any incorrect information, please kindly point out the mistakes for correction.

Many many thanks Caramom

Actually my girl is now attending playgroup in TT.  The school administrator in TT also told me that CDNIS and CIS had accepted a lot of their students in Redhill this year while ESF had accepted a lot of their students in Kowloon Tong.

for TT and Woodland, which one do you prefer?

If your target is ESF primary, I will choose ESF kindy or Woodland coz they focus more on English, and ESF primary interview is conducted in English.
If CIS is on top on your list, I will choose TT definitely coz their Mandarin teaching is much more stronger.
It always depends on which school is on top of your priority, if your target is bilingual schools like CIS, SIS etc, TT may suits your needs; if your target is English medium schools (teaches Mandarin as a second language) like ESF, CDNIS, HKIS, GSIS etc, schools like Woodland may suit your needs.
But this is just my personal opinion, you may have different point of views apart from me.
Feel free to contact me.

Actually my goal is to let my girl study in IS, to have very good english standard and on the other hand, to maintain reasonable Chinese standard.  Am i too greedy? haha

of course i like CIS, but i know it is very diffcult to get in especially if you are not well-born.  So i was impressed by what the school administrator said "CIS and CDNIS accepted a lot of TT students".

I know in reality ESF is not easy to get in as well if you are not ESF kinder students....  But the school fees of ESF are really attractive than CIS and CDNIS.....

what i am doing is to try to plan a smooth path for my girl......

many thanks again!

Yes you're right, ESF is getting more and more competitve these years, there are cases that even ESF kindy students couldn't get a place at ESF primary, some of the schools are over subscribed like CWBS, there's almost no interview chance for Cat.2 applicants. Some days ago there's a news about ESF will no longer have the subsidy from the government, they may change into a private school, and finally increase school fee to maintain their operation, though this news haven't be confirmed.
Someone said CIS is even more competitve than ESF, especially in reception class, they have high demand on applicants, there are not many places left in Y1 after they have accepted all reception kids, there's almost no hope for other applicants...
Since now more and more parents want their kids to study in IS (including me myself), a lot of ISs are being more competitve and difficult to get in.
You may also consider Korean International School (English Section), KCIS and French International School (International Section), these schools are not as competitve as ESF, CIS etc. KCIS is following British National Curriculum with a strong Mandarin program; Korean IS is following the Cambridge International Primary Curriculum, it may be easier to get in; FIS is also doing great in teaching but it has only one Mandarin lesson and 3 Fench lessons in primary per week. Hope it helps.

Thanks caramom!
Hm..... I don't know why..... I personally prefer 'traditional' IS than. I am not quite interested in Korean International hehe

For KCIS, I heard that they like big boy/girl. My girl was born in sep, so I think chance is slim ........

On second thought, I am thinking to let my girl study in victoria for pre nursery (very close to my home) and then TT in red hill for K1. I can then observe whether my girl can adapt to local school and there is no need for her to take school bus.  What do u think? Really appreciate for your reply!

Sorry for late reply coz we're moving house these few days.
If you want to transfer your daughter to Victoria, you have to make sure that they place your child in bilingual (Eng/PTH) class, because in trilingual class (Eng/PTH/Can) class, children have less time in learning English and they usually communicate in Cantonese; in bilingual class, children have more chance in using English and PTH, this environment can better prepare your child for K1 in TT.
Actually, there're K3 graduates entered IS every year, but just a few from each campus, or some of them may leave when they finished K2 and continue Y1 (but not K3) in other IS.
Um..I think you could at least have a try for KCIS, they will focus more on the interview than your child's age (whether they're small boy/girl or not), try her best and good luck!
TT is really a great stepping stone to IS primary, if your target is IS primary, than TT would be better than Victoria; but if your target is local (DSS/private) school, Victoria would be better than TT.
It's not a bad way to observe your daughter in Victoria because their teaching method is in between traditional and international. After your observation of PN, you can think of bringing her back to TT if your goal is CIS or CDNIS, studying in TT must benefit your child in the interview of CIS or CDNIS, or you may also try Pre-reception/Reception of CDNIS, if you get a place in it, you'll have a much more bigger chance in getting a place in Grade 1. CIS's kindy is really difficult to be admitted, the chance is too slim since they've only 88 places in kindergarten section, perhaps you could let your child continue in TT until graduated and go for Y1 interview in CIS, as you've said CIS accepted lots of kids from TT, so no problem for you and I'm sure that your daughter is smart enough to be admitted by CIS or other IS.

my heartfets thanks to you Caramom!

opps..... The campus that we chose i.e. kornhill does not offer bilingual class for PN....... so it cannot provide an English enviroment to my girl for the preparation of the interview of Pre reception in CDNIS...

so it seems that if my target is IS, i better not send my girl to victoria.

真係唔忍心咁細個就要佢搭校車去紅山

btw, which school your sweetie is studying now?

Redhill is really far away from me even I'm living in the southern district, because I'm not living in Repulse Bay/Stanley.
How about Caine Road/ Braemar Hill campus, would you consider them? It seemed closer to Kornhill than Redhill. Having a little kid riding school bus alone for such long distance is very pitiful, and she may feel dizzy easily because she's too young.
If Victoria doesn't offer Eng/PTH class, student's 1st language may not be English (99% of them have Cantonese as their 1st language), so it's not really suitable for non-Chinese/Cantonese as 2nd or 3rd language children.
Since your daughter is having playgroup in TT and TT is not a bad choice of school (actually a dream school for some parents), if possible, perhaps you could let her continue with it and later transfer her to CDNIS/CIS. Anyways, this is just my personal opinion, you may have different point of view from me.
