My girl just transferred to there, have no idea yet. Let u know after awhile.
But when I asked all my friends and someone who has a daughter there, they all said it is a good school . The most important thing is that it has high school which u don't have to worry again after a few years.

How about the volumn of school assignment ? How's the class arrangement ? I found from their web site there are 9 sections each day. Are they all academic or some activities section ? Any time for doing some of the assignments in the afternoon ?

Sorry for so many questions. I'm considering TL and St Clare at the same time as both accept my daughter. Thank you in advance.

My girl is accepted by both the St. Clare & True Light too. There's why I would like to ask other mummies more about these two schools. It seems both are quite good but people tend to comment that True Light's english learning is not as good as St. Clare. But in terms of the overall ie. location, campus, school facilities, reputation, it seems TL is better.

By the way, does any one of you know whether I can still join the lucky draw in June next year if I now register at TL?

I don't think u can still join the draw, as far as i know, if u registered with TL u have to give up you draw. My daughter was accepted by both st. clare and TL, but one of my friend told me (who was the teacher of st clare) that St clare does not have enough students of most of the classes. I think that could be because the school campus is quite old and it is not a full day class school. That is why I have sent my daughter to TL. I hope she could cope with the school life. But the choice is still yours, there are always many things to consider before hand. anyway, cheers and have a good choice.

My daughter was accepted by True Light also, may I know how much is the school fees? Is it HK$2,330.00 per month? How many homework usually? As I am a working mum, I just afraid I do not have enough time to take care of her homework.

yes, right. the school fee is $2330 per month for this year, don't know wheather they will rise it next year or not.
Today is my daughter first day in the school, she told me that most of the classmates send her a big welcome which made her a easier start and let her feels vry warm. She likes her class-master very much too.
my friend's daughter is studing there since p.1 (in which she is now p.4). she told me that her daughter enjoys very much of the school life there and most of all there is not much of the homework compare to the other schools.

Good to hear that some of you are accepted by TL. My daugther is on waiting list only. TL is a traditional school with quite an amount of homework in higher grades. Junior grades are ok. My colleagues' 2 daughters are in TL and both are now in secondary school. They all like TL very much.

Regarding the place, what I understand is, if you join the "lucky draw", TL will check with EMB time to time and cancel your seat with TL. They don't want to be treated as 2nd choice.

我個女而家o係真光讀k2, 講真好大原因係因為可以直升小學, 所以當年我都無去寶血/靈糧堂(幼稚園)etc
有個同學媽咪, 個仔今年升左小一, 佢confirm左, 一take真光offer, 就唔可以玩攪珠, 所以為左hold住個真光offer, 出年我都無得玩攪珠架喇...
真光無論中小學同幼稚園都算係小過人, 小學我未讀我唔知啦, 不過我有d concern佢學校既英文水準真係低左d, 所以出年我都會試下考多幾間私小, 睇下有咩option

Query why so many mummies question about the English standard of True Light ? Any reason for this perception ? I'll probably let my daughter to study in TL. I really like the campus.

又唔係真係 perception 咁簡單... 我個女而家讀緊k2, 我夠膽話佢英文水平應該好過一d同級小朋友(希望唔好得罪人), 點解我咁講呢? 譬如話有次去個birthday party, 個entertainer(其實係我個女去開學music間學校個老師)初頭照常地講英文, d小朋友係無反應既, 然後佢先轉返用中文

但我個女出到去做assessment, 個結果係below average! 而個原因係: 佢識聽, 識講, 就係唔識寫, 講真我無query學校教既進度, 所以講真我都無自己start去教佢寫, 但我lor完個result, 去問返其他朋友, 連砰洲間幼稚園k2進度都快過tl, 你做父母, 你又會點唸? 我唔係果種"功課多至係好學校"既媽媽, 但都唔好做包尾果個掛?

After all TL is an english base secondary school, that means TL primary girls have to achieve appropriate english standard to channel up. In the short term, primary girls could be less competitive, but we should go for the long run if we believe in TL.

Charlotte, my girl is now P1 and graduated from TL kinder last year. She knows nothing about spelling and grammar. The first month in her primary school, she exposed to grammar, articles, and now prepositions....which I thought is too difficult to my girl. Caught me up a bit !! But surprisingly, she adjusted well now and told me her school mates didn't do as well as she did in dictating words. So just get relax.

Very true, it's all depands on what you like your girl to be. We should focus on long term, let them enjoy their childhood in kinder and in primary school. The learning path is such a long way for a child, if a lot of parents said that their children have a wonderful life in TL then why not? Eventually they will catch up....

My daughter also just registered with TL. TL confirmed that they have changed the policy this year and allow all kids join the "lucky draw". You can go to the "lucky draw". Don't give up the lucky draw.

I have just visited the GOVT web site and did not notice that they have changed the rule. It said on the web that if you accept any offer from Private schools or Direct Subsidised schools, you are not qualified for the "lucky draw". Can anyone confirm what cindy had mentioned????

I am not a mom of TL student, my daughter is only 22 months now, but I was a TL graduate, from P1 to F5. I love my school. I don't know why people worry about the English standard of TL. By its name "True Light Middle school" gives people an impression that it is a Chinese-based school, but I can say, our English proficiency is comparable to some "English teaching schools".....but of course, my information was long time ago, I had graduated many years ago.....at least, I want you to know that TL girls love their school, not only when we were at school.....

Hope all of us can find our "ideal" school
