No, it's saxaphone. When we chose saxaphone, price was not on our mind. We only consulted our boy and he seemed to be interested in this instrument (although he has never learned it before). We have no problem in buying a brand new instrument if he will use it for a couple of years. I just don't want to see the instrument stuck in my house if he finds it unsuitable in a few months' time.
Can your boy change to clarinet, the technique is almost the same.(If you play clarinet, you could play saxo.) It also plays an important part of the wind band so the clarinet player can joins any of the five orchestral bands and wind band if he is capable. It is not so heavy as saxo. and much cheaper.(less than 2K)
My girl will join CKY this September too. We need to buy a Bassoon and we have checked that it takes about 40K to buy one. Do you know anywhere to buy a second hand one? Can anyone give me some advices? My girl already said she doesn't like Bassoon.
do we need to buy the instrument before the school start? My friend called them and said the school can borrow the percussion instrument to the children in school, the families can buy it and practise it at home, right?
The school said can get the instrument before the first instrument class starts which is around mid Sep.
I've also checked the recommended instrument's price, it costs much higher than the average, perhaps the recommended models are the best in quality. According to a friend, she bought a cheaper one last year, she said it is just a suggested model but not compulsury.
