我今早 in 完靈糧, 發覺好多大仔 in 而又聽校長話有600幾人考,只收116位,而且我果個係細仔,唔知有冇機會,請各位比D意見,多謝!

i wonder why the principal stressed that they did not teach writing. She could mention what they teach but not stress what they do not teach.

我係昨日(26/11) 10:00 見的, 需然多人但安排得好好, 我覺得間學校好新好靚, 遊樂設施好好, 竟然成間模擬超級市場都可以有, 四圍都係玩具及遊樂設施, 而校長亦親自見學生, 令我感覺到佢地好有誠意辦學, 我都幾鍾意間學校, 但我擔心太多玩具吸引, 令小朋友容易分心, 尤其我個仔專注力較弱, 驚佢無心機學0野, 好矛盾!

我都好同意陳師奶意見,所以很矛盾,學校環境及老師之感覺比先前 in 的更好,但問題在現今教育制度下,以(填鴨)式教育為主,如何配合升小學之制度? 不過我亦欣賞校長之教育方針,[幼兒應在愉快之環境下學習成長],而我 BB 面試時都不多回答老師問題, 末足兩歲,所以上來請教各位知否靈糧是否偏於收大仔?

May be I share some of my own views.  I was told in a parents' talk that, according to a research in the States on successful people, creativity & problem solving skills are one of their key success factors.  And study on creativity and problem solving tends to support that 填鴨式 education would kill creativity.  We parents were asked to do two exercises during the talk that enabled us to feel the difference personally.  After the exercise, I could understand why.  When we practice 抄書, I noticed that by that time I had shut myself off from thinking.  I was just thinking about completing the boring copying job as soon as possible.  I was even not caring whether my handwriting was pretty.

I was told by my friend her observations on kids from 活動教學 kinder (啟思).  Those students have difficult time at the initial year when they were promoted to the Primary schools.  But they catched up and become smart students 2-3 years after.

Some educationist suggested that we should enable kids to 跑得遠，but not 跑得快.  To keep up our kids'  enthusiatism towards learning for his life time is very important.  That was why he was not so concerned about the marks his girl gets from school.  He is more concerned with her interest to continue to improve herself.

About writing.  A 兒童治療專家 lately held a parents' talk in LLC. She said because kids at the age of K1 might not have their "primcer groups"  (I am not sure if I am spelling right. She meant the functioning of the fingers)  well developed.  So they tend to write by moving their arms instead of the fingers.  And this would make them feeling very tired and then they might have negative feelings towards writing.

Big girls/boys are almost all famous kinders' preference because they are really performing better.  My girl was a big girl and I believe it was one of the factors that she was accepted because the headmaster mentioned it when we had the interview.  But many of my girl's LLC classmates are not big girl/big boys.  Some are even small girls/boys.  So don't worry.  The interview is often a try of luck.
