I want my girl to study in international sch. Some sch provide few Chinese lessons a week , some provide more Chinese lessons, say everyday. I know I have to give her extra Chinese lesson outside the international sch. But being an international students she may find learning Eng is much easier than learning Chinese and I think she may not willing to learn Chinese. Are these the truth?

It really depends on the teacher the child has and the learning environment.  Since I cannot teach my little one myself, I am sending him to outside classes.  The first teacher he had, he hated it. Subsequently, he even refused to watch "Ding Dong" or TVB cartoons.  This year, I put him in another learning centre and he loves the teacher.  He is starting to say something in chinese, but still would not watch chinese TV.

Thanks lottieclee!
This is what I worry about. Good teachers will not always be there!
Actually my target are GSIS, CDNIS, SIS, CIS, ICS, they are all hard to get in and only SIS and CIS provide more Chinese. I'm a bit worry!
BTW, which sch is your kid attending?

My son goes to Abacus Kindergarten.  He went to tutortime and had a wonderful teacher whilst in playgroup and would speak some mandarin.  Once he got to nursery, he hated the chinese teacher and refused to say anything, whether mandarin or English.

I am sending him to Yew Chung for chinese classes on saturday, I am just lucky to get a teacher that he is willing to communicate with this time round.
