我的囡囡4個半月, 出生當天, 在醫院通過了ABBR 測試. 有一日, 房間的門被風吹而關上, BANG! 很大的一聲, 我被嚇到, 立刻安慰BB. 可是她卻笑著的看著我. 之後, 我常常留意她, 她好像對聲音沒有反應.

早兩天, 健康院轉介BB做聽力測試, OAE 不合格, 聽力學家說她距離合格還有很遠的距離. 測試要求BB每邊耳朵有5點的音在合格範圍, 可以BB1邊完全沒有, 另一邊就只有1點在合格範圍. 心很痛.. 政府會排期給BB個ABR, 約1-2個月後. 現在也不能決定日子. 所以我在這裡看見大家建議, 我BOOK了絳力tst.

請問一下, 如果ABR的報告不合格, 下一步應該怎樣? 我要否把report 帶給兒專科 及ENT 給議見?

請問大家有沒有專業的兒專科及ENT醫生可以介紹?

ABR的結果是可以告訴你BB的聽力程度。
結果1: 正常聽力
結果2: 有弱聽, 同時可以知道弱聽程度

(程度分為輕度, 中度, 中度嚴重, 嚴重及深度

若診斷出弱聽, 聽力學家會就弱聽程汎告訴你怎樣做, 有可能會即時轉介你帶小朋友去驗配助聽器。因為弱聽BB需要及早使用助聽器，減低弱聽對言語發展的長久影響。

醫生方面, 這個討論區有多個家長提過許由醫生 (耳鼻喉), 他在中環區，你可以查詢一下。

Hi erso,

Your message reminded me what had happened six years ago when my daughter was born ......  Her hearing test result was negative i.e. suspected of hearing impairment.  After rounds of testing, both in gov't hospital and private lab, result is still the same.

We went through a long, tough and difficult time.  It is really not easy.  But now, she is studying P.1 in ordinary school and her development is proved to be no delay from the same age group children (even better in certain aspects).

Come here and share with us what you feel and what are your problems.  I am sure people around will support you and help you!

thanks for your sharing KMMM.. and great to know that your daughter is doing well even she's hearing prob.

My baby has just gone thru the comprehensive hearing tests last week. Finally, my worries has just been confirmed - she has got moderate to moderately severe hearing loss on both ears. ya.. this is a very sad news, but ... FORTUNATELY, hearing aids can help. We're going to seek for ENT opinion before we move onto getting pair of hearing aids for her.

may i know which level of hearing loss ur son is suffering and did he require any speech training and how long it takes? hopefully, i'm little one could cope with her new hearing assistances.

Hi erso,

My daughter's left ear is ~55dbs and right ear is profound i.e. she can't hear anything by her right ear.  Fortunately her left ear's impairment is not that severe (comparatively!!!).

With the help of hearing aids (left ear only as it can't help on her right ear), she can basically hear all the sound.  So that her speech development is as good as an ordinary kid.

In terms of training / monitoring, we go to the following places.

1) Suen Mei - She started having training at Suen Mei since she was 11 months (once a week) and she is still going every Thur to make sure a smooth transition to P.1.  Just met her class teacher this morning and her first P.1 exam is quite good (Top 10 in class and Top 20 in form, hehe!!!)

2) 'Ma Lai' hospital - She had training there for only a short period of time.  Since her speech and other development are on track, no more training is required.  However, we still go there once a year to meet with the ENT doctors.

3) Phonak - We go there once a year to do detail hearing check, to monitor if there is any changes to her hearing ability.

4) Child Assessment Centre at Nam Tin - This center provides overall assessment to the children.  A few checkings was done in the past years to see if any delay in development in all aspects.  Final checking was about 6 months ago (before entering into P.1).  Again, results are ok, no more follow up is required.

These are the few places that we visited most frequently in the past years.  Hope this helps you.  If you want to speak over the phone to have more sharing, feel free to let me know.
