I will go for the backbone protected style school bag. Refer to other discussion forum, the SPI one is claimed to be the good choice. Besides, I also found some school bag with backbone protected sale in Dr. Kong.
I asked the ladies in the Dr. Kong shop. They said the maximum weight of the school bag with books cannot be more than 15% of the kid's weight. For example, if the kid is 60 lbs, the maximum weight of the school bag should not be over 9 lbs.
So, lighter the school bag is better.

What kind of school bag will you buy for the kid ? I'm wondering which kind of school bag, do P1 need to bring lots of books ?
I've check the SPI school bag from Bookfairs, it is very expensive $4XX (original), $3XX (sale) and they are plain and no cartoons !
My daughter only 40lb, so .... only 6 lbs books (less than a new born baby) !

You can go to Dr. Kong to have a look. Currently, they have a special offer. I found there were some school bag in small size(that will be suitable for your daughter) with cartoon. They were $269 for one and not heavy. They also have a special offer to deduct $50 if you spend more than $300 and $100 if over $500.
I consider it is attractive.
P.S. I don't have any kind of relationship with Dr. Kong.
