培僑簡介:
本校創辦於1946年二次大戰之後，最初收生主要是東南亞的華僑子弟；學校的先進培育他們，讓他們了解中國國情，了解中國前途，使他們成為新中國建設的支持力量，故定名為「培僑中學」。1949年以後，學生逐漸以本地生和僑鄉學生為主，然振葉尋根，追源反本，「培僑」之名沿用不替。
培僑由創校至今逾六十年，初期篳路藍縷，在跑馬地樂活道朗園山上經歷了不平凡的年代。先是解放戰爭的幾年，培僑師生為了新中國的誕生，或赴前線，或留後方，都為祖國的變革而盡力。解放以後，由於港英當局的迫害、圍剿，學校艱苦經營，但師生更以無比的戰鬥力，在逆境中求存，既學文化知識，也學時事政治，更鍛煉出「群育」中的領導和活動能力。
1983年，學校遷入北角天后廟道馬寶山上的新校舍，並於1991年成為香港首批直接資助學校。由於辦學成績理想，香港回歸祖國以後，獲特區政府批准，先後於小西灣開辦津貼培僑小學，及於沙田大圍創辦直資「一條龍」（中小學合校）培僑書院。
