Hello Parents

After visiting the open day, I like to put Lai Chi Kok Catholic in the first round. May I ask a few questions to know the school more:

1. Is 20 marks in the round secure enough to get a place in this school?
2. Where do most students live?
3. I heard that there are some classes with Chinese taught in mandarin. That day, I called the school office. I've been told that all Chinese classes are taught in Cantonese only.
4. How do you find the teachers and students? Students of good discipline?
5. Do the English NETs teach the lower class?

Many thanks for your help. I need to submit the form by Oct 2.

我小朋友今年P.1, 上年我都係15/16, 今年到我可以比小小資料你啦

>>>> 我上年都係20分, first round入左( 一定係必入個隻)多口問句, 你是否本區教友呢??

>>>> 呢樣你可以去校網睇下校車車路線, 我上年都係咁搵料家

>>>> 呢樣好似係再上一年既小一先係"普教中", 黃校長上年簡介話"普教中"效果唔係咁理想, 所以係今年取消左, 普通話只會係普通話堂上, 中文堂係講廣東話, 不過我個囝匯報中文堂都有時講普通話既

4. How do you find the teachers and students? Students of good discipline?
>>> 老師以我所見都好好既, 有活力幹勁個隻, 小朋友都乖既, 不過你要知就算名校都有"壞"分子

5. Do the English NETs teach the lower class?
>>> 呢個問題係荔天唯一缺憾(暫時對我來說), 低班英文唔係NET teacher教, 而且英文做唔到全英, 呢樣有d失色

Thank you very much, yuiyiubb. I am not Catholic but I am the old student of Sin To Primary School (Pm session). Therefore, I have 20 marks. As heard, Laichikok Primary School is quite good. Anyway, we've submitted in the 1st round.

你是舊生,小朋友很大機會在1st round就OK,當年囝囝都是因為Catholic,20分入讀,出年妹妹都會跟哥哥入讀,希望他們有機會成為同學仔。

Same here, we also submitted the form for round 1 as my hubby is the old boy from Sin Tao. We struggled a lot before whether we go DSS or LT but now seems probably will go LT due to its sound secondary school allocation result. For me, I am very impressed of their 'transparency', I got most updated information from their website from times to times, seems like I am part of it, as Principal Wong said, a good school has to let others know everything about it, no secret at all! But I also concern of their language envrionment as mentioned by yiuyiubb that there is limited chance for them to have daily PTH and English practice.

We live in Yuen Long, quite far away from the school......

Language is also my concern. My daughter used to study in a English/Mandarin stream of a kindergarten. She gets used to the bilingual environment. I feel Laichikok Catholic is very good and yes especially the sound secondary school placements. We have also applied DSS and private schools. It will be a dilemma for us. I am thinking if I put my daughter to a private/DSS school say in Kln Tong or YauMaTei. Then the secondary school net will be better than Shamshuipo ... Not sure ... but our feeling to Laichikok Catholic is really good.

We have one more concern as competition for 2007 kids will be even crazy, if we put the elder son in LT then there will be no worry at all for the small one. Anyway, let's trouble when all the results released, good luck to us all!

Hi PVC,

You can see that we also got a place by 20 pts lah, we registered lah. It's fate that we were busy here and there to get a place in DSS and turn out the god just gives me LT. It's also good that I have no worry at all for my little son. My son's case is same as yours, he studies in Eng/PTH class in kinda, now I just think he has a good foundation for the primary lor, give LT and our kid confidence, we all can make it! Hope they can be classmates next year and see you in LT
