Hi, mattsmum,
Yes, in a way and up to now, I am lucky in my child's education and I am very thankful.
The system is totally unfair, just to name one, the DSS is a school vouncher system for upper middle class children to have better admittance chance from those "better" schools. While, the majority will only depend on a system, which has a big factor depending on luck.
Even so, this does not prevent us, the parents in doing something more within this unfair system to help our kids out.
Concerning about the system, although we do not have a democratic system to allow us, the small potatos, to initiate changes, we can still be able to make those 上大人's lives a little bit difficult. Say, I can cast my vote to 毓民, even in many ways, he is not my cup of tea.
Last but not least, I believe there is no such system to fit all, no matter it is about education or economy. As stated in a book, which I have read in my younger years, it is "The Unperfect Sociey". |
