Raimondi Vs St Stephen: Teaching mtd in subjects - 小一選校

Anyone knows if there is one or two "main" class teacher in 1 class in P.1 in SSCPS? (雙班主任制 just like the arrangement in CKY?) Seems if 2 teacher in 1 class the care will be much better.
Also is the maths

in SSCPS taught in Cantonese? in PTH? or in Eng?
I just heard from a maths

teacher that his experience is: children learn Maths

in their mother language is much much better than those learning via Eng! b'cos of the analysis, memorization skill e.g. 背乘數表 etc.
How about the teaching mtd of Chinese? 用"高效識字法"嗎？which chinese textbook is used in P.1?
Would you pls kindly share your idea and your experience?

SSCPS G1 got one class teacher only, who speaks PTH with the kids only.

Math is taught in English, by an local chinese.

After two months in school, they can speak English and PTH, no communication problem.

SSCPS is using 啟思 PTH 版 this year. 要寫每日一句，好多字都識，當然比津校的小朋友差一點，因為數學，Health Studies 都係英文。

囝囝, 舊年都被Raimondi 選中，但想到中學，相信SSCPS比較好。SSCPS學生比較喜歡返學，大家都開心啦！

Did you decide your child continue to study his university in Hong Kong?

What do you mean about secondary school of RC?

Actually I have asked some friends-of-friends, that both schools have lots of students discontinue their studies in the schools every year, because they will go abroad for further studies!

Dear Jack0128,
do you think it is better to study Maths in Chi/Eng?
Which one has better secondary school public exam results? e.g. HKCEE/ AL ?

Why do you believe SSC is better than RC ? In fact, this is the first time I heard about this. I believe both secondary schools should have outstanding students but the overall result should be the opposite of what you said.

St. Stephen is not at the same class as SPCC and DGJS. On balance of costs and benfits, I'd rather go for Raimondi.

Yeah, that's true what Deepblue said.  I agree that St. Stephen has a 10A this year.  It doesn't mean all the students in St. Stephen are outstanding.  For general, may be both are good school.  RC can also have the best students so as the others school, even though Government schools.

I also agree that if you ask your children which school do they like, even though if I am the kid, I would choose St. Stephen, it looks like is more fun.  Please tell me who like to study.  Do you like to study when you when young?  As a kid, I also love to play.

For those kids who like St. Stephen, it can just count for small portion for choosing the schools.  It is because it is not comparing with the outcome.

I prefer to know the acutal outcome or result of what the school did or made.

Both Raidmondi and St. Stephen are good school, otherwise we won't apply for our child.

RC has 精英班 and also pull-out program for gifted children.

Are you sure they have an elite class at each grade? Where do you get the info? I don't really think so.

I asked the same Q in BK forum a wk ago, it seem there's no reply so far.

我個仔兩間都有offer, 不過, 我唔會交RC留位費

Depends on 小朋友既性格和喜好, 如果佢地討厭間學校, 再好名氣的學校也無福消受!

經驗之談, 我個仔讀左聖保羅堂一個學期就要轉校, 幾難考到手既學位都要放手, 唔夾就係唔夾, 經過幼稚園既經驗, 我唔想再錯多一次.

I haven't planned for his University yet. Thank you for remainding me this point. My son is under 6 years old.

Raimondi Secondary School(津校) and Raimondi primary(私小) are not connected. You must enter the government 派位 6 years later.

SSCPS(私小) and SSC(DSS) are connected (一條龍).
More than 92% primary students enter their secondary school. No need go to tuition class, not much homework. The teachers will help them to practise the dictation. Some of the sports activity take place in Secondary school. SSC is bigger than SSCPS, which covers a large area, as big as Disneyhongkong.

SSCPS is used Native Speaker to teach English and S.H.E., which is very good.

Dear littlemak,

I think study English Math is better for my son, because he will enter University later.

I don't know SSC's HKCEE/AL result. I never plan for so long. By the way, SSC changes to a DSS school, so we don't know the result yet.
