高主教普通話教中文, 數學&GS 部分用英文。大部份學生升中學部, 派位也不錯, 有 Kings, St Joe, Wah Yan......
學費 HK$2490.

我個女又係兩間都有報讀, 高主教取錄左, 但聖士提反就冇。我自己咁睇, 講名氣, 聖士提反出名D。高主教前幾年都仲係男校, 兩年前先開始收女生, 整體男女生比例一定冇聖士提反 (大約50:50) 咁平均。

兩間都係英文小學, 小一中文都係普通話教 (但就應該係聖士提反早少少P1-6都係普通話教中文)。成績我覺得兩間似乎差唔多 (但聖士提反全校人數少D, 咁我估入到間學校讀既大D機會係真係叻D 0個批小朋友), 不過呢個完全係個人觀感, 冇乜實質數字back up。

聖士提反學費貴高主教一倍, 而且要compulsory 學一種樂團樂器，支出會比較大。聖士提反小六要compulsory寄宿, 又係另一項支出。環境就聖士提反係優勝D, 人少D, 地方又大D, 午餐係飯堂煮, 健康D。

高主教中學部响中西區, 暫時都仲係津校, 冇記錯上屆小六畢業生 (全男生) 都有超過7成原校讀上去; 咁當然讀完聖士提反小學再去考其他中學都得, 但上次聽briefing, 聖士提反上屆小六畢業生有9成都係响原校讀上去。高主教係天主教, 聖士提反係基督教, 我冇宗教preference, 但如果你有, 你都可能會考慮埋呢點。

舊年囝囝都被這兩間學校取錄，論方便當然灣仔區Raimondi。
我就想囝囝開心啲，及語言環境為優先。
所以選定聖士提反書院。囝囝真係好喜歡返學。
連默書，老師都會同佢温習。好正。

We have discussed with our little daughter... She like St. Stephen because of the seafront environment...consider the super high rise price of living in HK.... the school fees match with the environment.... anyway thx. for all help !!

我個仔都收到呢兩個offer, 我決定唔交 RC 留位費, 因為我個仔非常活躍, 而在面試當日, 他在St. Stephen 的表現出真我個性, 而在RC 面試時是有病在身, 精神不足就自然比平日"斯文", 以他的性格來說, 其實, St. Stephen 比較岩佢

高主教確實比較適合一些有紀律的小朋友讀, 學校對學生的品行要求幾高.

假如一條龍直上中學及不用擔心十二年學費的話, 當然係 St Stephen la, 但想進可攻退可守的話, 可選高主教, 因它中學派得非常吾錯 (King's, St Jo, Queen's), 各選所需.

Expensive school fee + misc and location for St. Stephen are really the main concern for 12 years.

I would like to know in terms of English and Mandarin and academic studies, which one reputation is higher?

We all know St. Stephen is expensive and much well-known.

But what is the outcome for recent years? Like, going to Hong Kong University or Chinese University,etc.

I heard boys from St. Stephen, their English is not as what they said that good. People only speaks well but result from public exams are not really good.

Any more information about both schools?

I just know the primary school's English is very high. My son studies for two months and writes an English composition " How to bake the cake"
and knows to write an recipe.

They use PTH daily, of course, can speak, no problem.

SSC got a 10'A' this year, information from their website.

Same as you I enrol my daughter for Raimoni and St Stephen Preparatory, both accepted her.

Preference is to go for St Stephen Preparatory as I love the all-round training programme, as for Raimondi too many boys and traditional school which is very demanding....

For me I will choose St. Stephen. As they have 10A on HKCEE last year. So traditionally the school will keep the result on & don't want to let it down. Besides, the environment really good than the others.

Do you know if there are one or two "main" class teacher in 1 class in P.1 in SSCPS? (雙班主任制 just like the arrangement in CKY?) Seems if 2 teacher in 1 class the care will be much better.
Also is the maths in SSCPS taught in Cantonese? in PTH? or in Eng?
I just heard from a maths teacher that his experience is: children learn Maths in their mother language is much much better than those learning via Eng! b'cos of the analysis, memorization skill e.g. 背乘數表 etc.
How about the teaching mtd of Chinese? 用"高效識字法"嗎？which chinese textbook is used in P.1?
Would you pls kindly share your idea and your experience?

If you follow this link, you can see RC did has 2 9A 1C in last yr HKCEE and contrary to what U say St Stephen College should be less pushy, it is more an in-between of international school and traditional school, this is description used by principal Ms. Wai in info session in this yr and in the past (I checked with a parent of current students)

I'd say if you plan yr kid to study in H.K., RC may be a better choice and at lower cost. On the other hand, if you aim to study at top school abroard (and willing to pay top school fees as well -don't really count on scholarship cause the economy of western world is really bad), then St. stephen will be better choice. Just my 2 HK cents.

Hi, it seems lots of kids have offers from both 高主教 & 士堤反. Me too. Did you ask your kids which one he likes?

My kid said he liked 士堤反 the most. In fact, I found him the happiest during the interview date in 士堤反. I will likely choose 士堤反 and register next Mon.
