I don't think those interview classes are useful, so I didn't take my boy to any interview classes.
I took my boy to participate in three very competitive schools for interviews. From what he described, those schools actually didn't ask some really academic questions. Most questions are very common and can be taught by parents in daily life.
This is what I can share from my son's experience:
1st in for SPCC: Playing puzzles games, reading books while waiting, asking where my son lives and how he travels from home to school
1st in for SPC: Justing playing lego and describe what he'd made, re-telling a story.
1st in for DBS: watching cartoon most of the time, ask some common questions like which school he is studying, what he likes to do. Some grouping games, some classifying games.
2nd in for SPC: really daily life questions like what he likes to do after school, what he does at school, describing about his classroom, where he goes every Sat and Sun etc.
See, from above description, I don't think the interview classes may help a lot. Or, I would say, parents can do all of them.
My son is luckily to have 2nd interview for SPC and SPCC, still waiting for DBS. That's why I don't think the interview class is a must for entering a competitive school |
