1. Have the students' attention before talking or starting a lesson
要吸引學生目光接觸和注意
2. Select learning goals and objectives that are functional for the students' lives
學習課題最好先係實用性
3. Teach in the environment in which students will be required to use the skills
在實際環境去教授, e.g 超市買食物
4. Use actual materials
用實物去教, 盡量令學生用五官去感受
5. repeat the teaching over a period of time
重覆教授
6. make certain that students actively participate in the learning and practice new skills
令學生參與其中並且練習
7. gradually phase out the teacher's role
最後逐漸減少老師的輔助
