Will you consider Parsons? It is quite good and have 2 levels before kids go to learn piano.

I have not signed up Parson, but yes I heard it is quite good also.

Just wondering re. the diff between the many kid music classes.

My kid is taking Little Mozart at Parsons ("Park See"). My kid is just 3. I decide not to continue after finishing one set of course, because I think the material is too "sum" for a 3 yr old. It's not age appropriate. I read the materials (Alfred). The material is designed for children 4.5 yrs or older, so for a 3 yr old kid he won't be able to understand much. The course teaches you to recognize the "ABC" note on the piano, quarter note, half note, quarter rest... things like that. but frankly speaking as a piano teacher myself I won't use this way lor. That's just my opinion only.

回答樓主的問題：
１）通利：music wonderland(3-4歲) 及 junior music course(4-6歲)均是採用日本yamaha的音樂課程, 前者維期半年, 後者兩年, 全程屬親子課程, 上課以聽, 唱, 彈, 看(譜)為步驟, 一步一步, 有些小孩以完成整個課程才選擇單對單學習樂器, 對音樂認識不深的家長, 是不錯的選擇.
2) 香兒: 啟蒙班由1.5歲開始, 記憶中要逐班升上去, 初期有點似music playgroup, 是本土研發的課程.
3) 演藝學院: pre-junior music program & junior music program都是全年課程, 分級別上課, 最年幼好似是5歲 or 7歲(對不起, 記憶模糊), 入學是經過極高水平的甄選和audition, 通常是已考二級或以上的孩子才會嘗試, 不過考核重小孩的音樂天份, 音樂感多於一切, 有錢也不一定能考入. (但無錢又真的負擔不起其學費!)
4) 題外的柏斯: 小小莫札特(2.5歲開始), 小班親子形式教學, 目標是學彈琴, 所以開始就學五線譜式的樂理, 拍子, 教材是alfred的琴書.

以上1) 及 2)小兒均參加過, 在幼兒時期, 是好好的親子playgroup選擇. 之後仔仔在3歲左右開始單對單學琴, 老師是用alfred的琴書的, 好快上手. 依家學琴一年半, 進度理想, 但已經無時間再參加其他音樂班了!

演藝學院有3歲左右小朋友音樂啟蒙班的, 感覺好似同Tom Lee etc. 差不多

I agree with you. Although I'm not a piano teacher , I play piano too. I think the materials of little mozart are not appropriate for a 3 years old kid. What is the use of memorizing all the difficult terms for young kids at 3? And their muscles are not ready for playing on a piano. In my daughter's class, no one can follow. The teacher use half of the lesson talking and talking. Says this one is important and that one is important. you have to remember all of them. Even the parents feel very boring, how can a 3 years old feel interesting?

I really regret that I've paid 18 lessons fee in advance. Now still have 6 lessons left......

I should have put my younger daughter to Tomlee music wonderland which my elder daughter joined. We really had a wonderful time at music wonderland and JMC.
