My son is now S3 in HKUGA college and will go aboard for studying this fall. Quite a lot of Secondary school old uniform (various size), both winter and summer available to give out free of charge.

Let me know if P6 students have interest to get them.

By looking at the form your son is studying, I bet he will be going to the State. Appreciate it if you could come to this forum later to share his life abroad.

講開就講, once I saw a video in school intranet about last year's P.2 students role-playing as weather reporters. There was a girl also called Charlotte. She was lovely, beautiful and with long hair, was she your daughter?

不過佢係有玩過"天氣小姐", o係屋企表演仲要最後加多句"thanks for watching", 笑到我地反肚

If you have collected the uniforms, please keep it for your boy uses. I shouldn't get it due to my late response. I also wonder whether the sizes fit my skinny boy.

Will you attend hkuga college parent sharing taken place on 12 Jun? If you will be there, I'd like to say hi to you.

Dear all,

1) I just back from overseas trip and will call you on the uniform matter shortly. My son is tall and thin by the way. For delivery of uniform, I plan to be done in mid-July after term end. But then I can give you once and for all.

2) Savoy,

You are right, my son will go to the State (East Coast ) for grade 10.

As you may be aware of, continually, there are students from HKUGA college left school for i) overseas studying and ii) changing to international schools in HK.

Reasons being that i) they dropped IB and ii) some however have long been planning to go aboard anyhow in the first place. My son belong to (ii).

Thanks to HKUGA's coaching, my son was able to be admitted to a more than decent high school in the USA. Not only him, there are students in the past few years were admitted to good schools in the UK and Australia.

I got no complaint about the academic standard of the school, especially Humanities and English. Science subjects are a bit weak though. Teachers like Sidney Wong and Harniess are worth praising. Having said that, family support to help kids catch up and overachieve are required. Never to have your hands off them.

Things I am not much satisfied with the school is perhaps their support for students to apply for overseas studying. During my son's application process, I spent much time to communicate, liaise and chase with the school to get the recommendation letters and transcripts. It may be partly because of the tedious application process of US high school and partly that few HKUGA students go the the US. (Majority go to the UK and Australia).

I therefore are more than happy to share with U the application process in future if so required. In fact, given more and more HKUGA students are in foreign countries, I am thinking of asking the college to form an overseas student alumni. My son are of course willing to be the US contact.

She got two long  braids that day. What impress me most are her accent of English and "標緻" appearance.

I found that video in 學習中心 - 學科 - English studies.

BTW, yr comments on College really give us more understanding about it. And I hope we will get more information after the sharing held in the primary school this Friday.

Hope that an overseas students coalition could be established soon. Keep up!

Hi paullo

Many thanks for giving us valuable information. They are indeed useful to me in planning study pathway for my son when he goes to higher form.
In fact I have been trying to figure out local or overseas education would profit him more, especially in terms of character and personal development. Well I still have 1 year more to think and research. By then, I may need your advice and information about overseas higher school.

If the number of student studying abroad keeps increasing, I think an overseas alumni association will be organized in the College sonner or later. I look forward to seeing the establishment of this association.

Can't find the link anymore. Thanks anyway (She was so lucky to have Ms. Janxxx teaching her. Ms. Janxxx is a very very good teacher and I like her very much).

BTW, when you have time, visit the 2007/08 photo school album, 全校愛心活動日, there's one photo (among the first few ones) with a little girl + Ms Cheng, that's Charlotte

Really appreciate your comments. You're making me feel more confident about our school.

Strange?! I thought the secondary principal should be very experienced in handling overseas schools applications (despite his IS background).

Hi,

The new principal is in the position for only 1 year, I thus tend not to make any comments on him.

If I were parent of P6 student and is gonna to decide whether to go to HKUGA College, the presence of Sidney Wong would be a major factor.
