Kln Tong Govt Pr Sch = 上農(農圃道上午) ？
I think this school is a little bit worried about its student nos. as much as all other schools, 'cos my son's Day Nursery (Kln Ling Liang Church Day Nursery) + KG distributed the Govt Pr 1 Allocation forms and info in this primary school instead of back in the KG/Nursery, and all parents attended a school talk conducted by KlnTongGovtPrSch's headmistress. This was very different from past years' practice.
My impression was that this school has a new campus, but still has some rather traditional methods while trying to evolve into adopting the 活動教學形式teaching method in line with the times. Of course the school will show its best during such an occasion.
One thing which I didn't expect, though, but which I later found was the norm in all or most primary schools, was that the children weren't allowed to run around and play during breaktime as we could when we were small. (In my days breaktime was the only time we could play netball.) Now the children could only walk around (not run), sit and eat their snacks.
We live in Net 34, transport to this school is not too convenient for us - there is only 1 minibus route nearby, so I have no intention of letting my son apply for this one. If we live in Net 41, this could be our 3rd to 5th choice.
As you said, apart from the 2 "good"ones, most of the better schools in Net 41 itself are DSS / private schools. But for the "good" ones, not every kid can cope with the volume and quality of academic work required. |
