the sep-dec children should be the young boy/girl in the class.  kindergarten can pick students who are at least 2yrs & 8mths old on the 1st day of school.

for example, to admit 2005 kindergarten, the last group will be those borned in dec2002.  they'll be 2yrs & 8mths old on 1sep2005.  for those borned in jan2003, they have to wait for the next school year (ie. 2006).

therefore, normally jan-dec in the same calendar year will admit kindergarten in the same school year, say jan-dec 2001 admit 2004 kindergarten; jan-dec2002 admit 2005 kindergardten, and so on.

of course, if children who were borned in dec2001 postpone 1yr, ie. don't admit kindergarten in 2004 but in 2005, then they'll older than those borned in jan2002.  however, according to the normal procedure, jan children are the oldest boy/girl while dec children are the youngest boy/girl (talking about borned in the same calendar year).

應該係由1月至9月會比較好D，因為試諗下，當你BB05年9月入學時，如果你是1月出世的話，9月入學時，已經係3歲8個月；相反，如果你BB係12月出世，雖然可以適合入讀幼稚園最低年齡2歲8個月，但就已經比起1月出世的BB細差不多一年，大家都讀同一個課程，小朋友年齡差幾個月，表現都會差好遠。
所以，我絕對贊成讀書，讀大唔好讀細。

幼稚園收生係由九月開始至第二年年尾的,咁一月既又點會係全班最大的呢,返學又唔係賽跑,唔係快返學就好d既

我個人認為六七八月既係最差既,因為k2學寫字既時間先

近年轉制，小一開學收5歲8個月，所以9-12月是細仔。1-2月是大仔，我仔便是10月出世，係班中算細。我地以前讀書，小一開學要足6歲，9-12出世的同學是班中最大的，但而家唔同了。
我覺得3-5月最好，唔太大又唔會太細，有時太細D幼稚園有選擇都收大仔的。

我覺得好睇個人，我見過一個年尾出生的男孩，在港島某名男校讀書，小一至小五年年是全級最細，成績卻是全級第一。我細佬一月出生，不見得讀書最標青，反而中一和中二都留級，結果第二年中二未讀完就輟學。

我自己八月出生，成績不過不失；我囡七月出生，她的表現比大過她幾個月的小朋友都成熟。

我好認同 - 9-12月出生是着數D因有得揀，我BB就係10月出世，但有個唔好處就是如入N1就時要足二歲，學校只會讓你在插班生面試時才接見而且學額到時已有限，入心水學校機會大减，甚至可能到二歲都還未可以上N1呢！所以最後每個月都有得失，不過我都認同8月是較有小小小蝕底的！

Dear all,
好多出名幼稚園有得揀都唔收細仔/女ga, 在九月前足三歲優先,越早越好,因我認識一位修女,他說小朋友相差幾個月分別好大,試想K1一班裏面,有的三歲八/九個月大,有的二歲八/九個月大,相差足足一年,對一個兩三歲的小朋友來說,細仔/女是否比較蝕底??老師亦很難handle,所以佢地盡量都唔收細仔/女,叫你出年再黎報.

我係因為私人原因, 冇時間揍女, 將女女送左去育嬰園, 對我來講, 呢個係一個好大決定(佢係我一直揍開) 未送女女返學前, 都係好似D 家長咁諗, 咁早送去返學,好殘忍呢, 經過左幾個月, 覺得佢變化好大, 學習能力高左好多. 所以最後我都冇後悔.
我會這樣想, 幾時送子女返學的關鍵, 係在於你自己有冇時間好好照顧佢既身心發展, 如果你根本冇時間去教佢, 陪佢玩, 倒不如交由專業人士幫你, 至於佢會唔會怕左返學, 係在乎你所搵的學校好唔好, 以及你點樣安撫佢情緒. 根據觀察所得, 越遲返學的小朋友, 自理能力、禮貌、規矩都會較弱(家教好好的媽媽除外), 而小朋友的獨立能力亦非一時三刻學來的, 係要由小開始培養, 而0-6歲是小朋友學習的黃金期, 不容有失呢!! 雖然我都請左工人,但我都決定繼續比女女升讀幼兒園..
我覺得讀過幼兒園, 即使係細女, 都會醒 D, 有利幼稚園面試呢~~(好現實呢)

agreed with 藍妹媽媽, 因為我個女家下2歲半, 之前我都唔諗住比佢讀pre-nursery, 但係當佢有番咁大, 得佢一個o係屋企會好悶, 反而比佢讀pre-nursery可以學下sharing, 秩序等等, 我志在有人陪佢玩下

I personal think Jan-May is the best time for kids, because the weather is not too not when they are born. Besides, the performance of older jid is much better than the younger kid when they start kindergarten especially if you want your kid to study in those famous kindergarten.
