有無人從來都無比子女上?
在那情況下才開始上補習班?
其實我個女都未上過,甚麼公文數都無參與.

我2 個仔仔從來都沒有上過補習班,因我是全聯媽媽,我自己教,我覺得小朋友成績差了,而他們又想成績(或家長想)自己教不來,或不想傷感情,因在教導時,一定會有磨擦,少不了會駡,這樣就要找人幫手 ,但要上一間口碑好的補習班,因見朋友花了錢又受氣的情況不少,而小朋友整天在做paper的可憐樣,真的要小心選

My son has not attended any tutorial class yet. However, I think you can join some class to equipt our kids. It does not mean that you need them to do paperworks all the time!

My son will attend some classes to enhance their language skill or the sense of Maths. For example, some preparatory classes.

From my opinion, language skills training (english) could be started earlier especially your kid is not studying in english school.
If the kid can manage his homework himself and he gets 8o marks or above in academic subjects without your great help, I would praise him and it is not necessary to go to tutorial class(boring for them!).
I would use the tutorial time to push/encourage him reading(not school books). , better to have one training in music(piano, flute ...), sport(swimming, badminton ,table tennis...) and art (drawing...) and than let him have free time. So I prefer him to study half day primary school that they can get more lesiure time.

我自己由細到中五都冇去補習, 到中六, 中七因為學校教得唔好, 所以先有去補習, 最後讀到HKU (BBA), 我諗補唔補係好睇多方面, 要睇下個學生咪係真係有咁既需要、家長能唔能夠應付、家長對子女期望、要求.....會唔會好緊張..........

講真, 我都係大學畢業左5-6年, 都唔係好耐, 以前我個年代都開始興補習, 例如"劉家傑, XXX Sir, 英訊, ......., 我班d同學有一半都去補, 我又唔覺補左會叻過唔補的人, 補習無錯係可以幫助學生, 但唔補係唔係好似有"唔妥"? 我又唔覺. 真係要睇你自己對子女要求, 以前我父母都唔會理我地幾兄弟姊妹既成績, 佢地要求好低,只要升到級便可, 結果我5兄弟姊妹, 除左一個唔鍾意讀書, 個個都讀到大學, 都冇乜補習wor.....

補習: the downside is that kids might become overly reliant on others' help. Whenever there is a more difficult problem they couldn't do at first glance, they would just wait for the tutor's help. This is bad for kids, both in terms of intellectual and personality developments. Of course, if the tutor is a good one who could help stimulate the young mind, instead of just doing the work for the kids, that is a different story.

Honestly I don't know the standard of tutorial classes in HK.

It depend whether the parent have time or ability to take care of the child when their academic result are behind the average. For me, I have sent my son to ESF on every Saturday morning so that he can have a pure English environment to listen and speak out English confidently.

Regarding extra-curricular activities, I read an article from 小學園地, which was quite interesting. Just want to share.

活動教學 :-
專家話：
香港教育制度應進行改革，
不要再實施填鴨式教育，
家長及老師應發掘學生的潛質，
加以栽培。
於是小學生便要
星期一學書法，
星期二學鋼琴，
星期三學珠心算，
星期四學游泳，
星期五學電腦，
星期六學德文，
星期日雖則什麼都不用學，
但要將一切所學的，
表演給四姨媽、
三姑娘，
媽媽婦女會的朋友，
好讓她們知道小學生
不是填鴨式教育下的製成品，
而是活動教學的典範！
其實，
小學生也只是一個普通人，
可不可以讓小學生自己選擇學什麼，
做什麼，
至少，
給我十五分鐘休息時間啦！

That is English Schools Foundation (英基學校).
We choosed the Saturday class in Kowloon Junior Schools.

我讀書時期，好像没有人需要補習似的。遇到甚麽難題，和同學討論，總可以解决的，不然，問老師也可。可能没有人補習的關係吧，上課時同學都留心，學習氣氛很好。

我大學時，好像興補習了。這給我們很多找外快之機會。當時學費一年才三千多元。一般補習50多元一個鐘。有同學找到100元一個鐘的，引起嘩然。當時很多人靠補習自己交學費和日常開支。

以我之經驗，補習是百害而無一利的。香港之教育是填鸭式的，課餘時間，應該用來思考和解决問題。
