Puffin Easy-to-Read Program

昨日到書局買書，看見一套Puffin出的書叫Easy-to-Read，一共有三個levels，覺得很熟口面，突然想起數個月前BK媽咪在大媽介紹下，集體買了一套GC出的Easy-to-Read套裝書，於是便上網查看，竟然是一樣的。

GC那套書有15本書、15隻CDs和15隻VCDs，售價要$1790，七折也差不多要$1300；而Puffin那套書則是$32一本，所以如果不需要CD和VCD的話，大家可以考慮Puffin那套書，因為便宜得多。

我睇過個網站，但似乎同我買左個D都唔同o既，係咪我搵錯，搵唔到我個15本o既，請告知香港邊到有呀？我今日放假，下午都去GC睇大科學，我都想順便去睇下，我亞哥都想買level 2 & 3, 如果平D，真係好，不過係咪無CD同VCD架。

The bookstore I went to has only a few of the Puffin Easy-to-Read books. I asked the shopkeeper, and he said they no longer ordered for them.

I am trying to find out where else I can find the books and will revert as soon as I can.

I shall also let you have further details of the Puffin Easy-to-Read Program after lunch.

Danniewo has raised a very good question – How do I know that the GC Easy-to-Read Program is identical to Puffin's?

True, I do not have the GC version. But I have examined the books in detail at an exhibition a few months ago. So by the time I came across them at the bookstore, they looked very familiar to me (though I was not sure). After I had gone home, I surfed the websites of GC, Puffin and Amazon, and found that their titles and covers are identical. Of course, I can't compare the contents. But may I set it out here later for BK moms or dads' confirmation? I don't have the books right here with me.

The Puffin Easy-to-Read Program has 3 levels:

Level 1: Ages 4-7
Level 2: Ages 5-8
Level 3: Ages 6-9

The whole program contains a few hundreds of books, and GC's version is only a selection of them. For your interest, those books included in the GC Program are listed below. Those with an asterisk are out of print.

Hi all,

I bought the level 1 at GC before.  May be I can share with you my experience.
After I bought Level 1 from GC, I also found the original version (no CD & VCD) in the web site or the bookstore.  The content is the same because GC's version is absolutely come from the original version - Puffin easy-to read.  But Taiwan 東西 has added the flash card, exercises, CD, VCD and the book size is larger.

For my comment, the GC version are attractive and efficient for my son.  On the other hand, if you can not afford, you can selective buy some of them from the website, local bookstore or even borrow from library.

You can visit the yesasia.com, the price is only HK$31.12 (paperback), amazon.com or bookcloseouts.com but many of them are out of stock.

有時買教材真係唔好買太貴, 最好買少少返去比小朋友試下鐘唔鐘意先至好, 否則就好浪費的了。
