Dear all Moms,

My twins are just 26 months and start to go to preschool three times a week starting from 8:45AM until 11:15AM. We went to go school ( I mean staying in the school) during the first week. Then the teacher recommended us not to accompany with them anymore. Then problems started. Every time they go to school, they cried like crazy and really don't want to school. Right now the little one doesn't want to leave the house. What can I do? Is this very common to the children around this age? How can they go to K1? I am so worried about them. Pls help.

我兩個小朋友初返學時都一樣勁喊, 等佢返左兩個week左右, 同其他小朋友開始玩埋一齊, 佢應該可以適應架啦, 佢地開始返nursery時只係岩岩兩歲, 可能係比較怕醜/害怕陌生環境, 所以你要多d解釋比佢聽, 返學會好開心, 好多小朋友陪佢玩, 老師又好鍚佢, 等佢對返學無咁恐懼. 再者你可以問下佢乜野原因唔想返學先, 先了解下佢問題再慢慢解決o

Thanks for your advice. But since they are still little and every time I asked him why he doesn't want to go to school, he is not old enough to express himself. He just said No! I will try my best to tell him the good things about going to school.

My daughter cried for the whole month and I kept on comforting her. Althought she cried, she learnt a lot from nursery and seemed enjoyable. Teacher told me that the crying time was shortening as time went. At the moment she separated from me/maid at the school gate, she would cry. But when I observed her through the window, it was OK! She still cried a little bit when she started K1. So don't worry! (Make sure that teachers are good to your child even when he is crying but not leaving him alone)
