Are you going to join the international class.
My daughter loves this school very much and she can speak some simply English as well.

Hi! SaliNana,

I've not decided yet.  I called Funful this morning and they said this Saturday will be their open day.  They said I can go to have an interview on this Saturday and if I found everything OK, I can enroll right away and buy the school uniforms.  Probably, I will come to visit them with my daughter on this Saturday.

For the international class, would all the teachers be "native English speaking" or just "ABC"?  Would there be any Chinese lesson?  My daughter is now 25 months old and she can speak/listen just very little English, such as  thank you, sorry, sit down, stand up, what's your name, how are you,..... etc).  However, we are not speaking English all the time at home and my Indonesian maid can only speak Cantonese.  Do you think my daughter can cope with the international class or I better let her to john the bilingual class?

For the bilingual class, would there be native English speaking teacher for the English lesson?

Sorry for so many questions.  Hope to receive your valuable advice. Thank you very much!

How old is your daughter?  My son is also studying there as an International student. (N1).

BBChan,
Have you made your decision yet?  Don't worry about if your daughter.  She will get use to whatever situation is, just give her time.

In the international class, there will be 2 teachers.  One is an expatriate (whose speaks English only), and the other can speak Cantonese.  The one whose can speak Cantonese will assist anyone have English problem in the beginning.  So, don't worry.

Hi BB Chan,

Sorry for late reply. Did you go to their openday. How is it. Your situation is very similar with me. I will suggest you to join the International class for N1. As I know they have one Indian Teacher and one Chinese Teacher at class. Actually, most of the children are Chinese. For Bilingual class, they will have one Chinese Teacher in Every Class and they have one Native English Teacher in their school. She will go to every class for about half hour everyday. I will perfer to let my daughter to study Bilingual class in K1 just because English is much easier than Chinese. Do you agree!

Thanks for your advice.

Yes, I went to their open day and finally joined the bilingual class because my husband prefers our daughter not just learning English but also Chinese as well.  The interviewer from Funful said if we want our daughter to also learn Chinese, we should join the bilingual class.

Personally, I prefer international class and after reading your message, I wonder if I should change my decision.

Are you going to let your son continue his K1 in Funful?  Will you consider other kindergartens?  Any recommendation?

Have you heard Po Leung Kuk Tam Au-Yeung Siu Fong Mermorial Kindergarten in Whampo?  My friend's daughter is studying in this school (K2 & K3) and she said it's quite good compared with those famous kindergartens in Kowloon Tong.  From what I heard, previously this is an international school and after收購from Po Leung Kuk, it still remain its teaching method and so the main language is English (one native English teacher + one Chinese teacher for every class).

Any comment on other kindergartens in Tsuen Wan, such as聖公會荊冕堂, 浸信會…etc
