freesit-cat,
for KM's primary school entry:

i don't know if they actually take parent's occupation into consideration since they don't interview direct with the parent(s).
I think its more to do with the child's performance. I heard they won't consider children who cry, falling asleep and scream.
My daughter is "small" b. We went to the interview a few weeks ago. First, you enter into the large classroom on g/f and register. After a few minutes, they will callapprox 5-6 children's name and only 1 parent is allowed to enter into the classroom with the child.
U sit down with the child at the desk to play with the toys and 1 NET teacher will come around the table to ask what language is used at home with the child.
Then u asked to sit on the mat with the child to listen to a SHORT english story (2-3 other teachers will observe if the child is paying attention or walk away etc).
Then they will give each child 1 musical instrument. 1 local teacher will sing and dance. Other teacher will observe to see ifthe child follows the movements.
Finally, the child is asked to walk under abridge made by soft foam. The NET teacher will wait at the other side of the bridge and give each child 1 sticker.
The whole process finished in last than 10 mins. Then we could FREELY tour the rest of school/ classrooms.
I hope this will help with your planning. |
