not sure if you're talking about phonics or phonetics, but if you're talking about phonics, this doesn't matter. if you're talking about phonetics, you should be adhering the international standards and so then it doesn't matter.
The bigger concern should be the teachers and in hong kong, most teaching quality is average to poor. in fact, most teachers have never received training in phonics nor phonetics and are still teaching your kids. |
