i am just wondering why not many student send their articles to the newspaper, although they already write many (compositions) in school!!
you may just sent their words to 'student standard' or 'student post' or something else so that the articles may be published!

I don't know what you really want to talk about.

My view is, if the child like to read student newspapers, and like to read articles written by other students, he himself probably would like to send one of himself to the newspapers. (I will myself when I was young.)

But if the child don't like to read newspapers, then it has no meaning to send articles. You see what I mean.

By the way, if the child want to send his composition, he has to spare time to rewrite it neatly on a clean sheet of paper. Some children might consider that it is a waste of time.

I don't see any reason NOT to encourage them to send articles to newspapers. However, if the child really don't like to, it's his choice.

Yes, my son has no incentive to write any composition (both Chinese and English) except they are requested by the school. I remember his teacher told me (we had an interview during the mid-term) that my son refused to re-write a composition again even it was asked to publish in the school's student notice board.
